• Dante might not have gotten exposed to the outside world, but, Alpha Hero made it important for him to learn about earth and every aspect of it, including the part he is in. He knew that his kind was an abomination to most individuals, except those who understood the history and took interest in shifters. If he has been faced with life-threatening exposure to danger from undocumented wolves, that means that he wasn't safe and news about his fate had gone out. So many would want to seize that opportunity to overthrow him. Then the rest will see him as weak and try to ally with his enemies. That is why his absence was kept secret. If this happened to him, that means even his inner circle was faulty and no one could be trusted.
• Nearly half an hour later, he was standing at the crest of a hill. His nose twitched, picking up the vestiges of an illegal leaf fire smoldering in a nearby yard.
