Chapter 12 Dominic Was Late Again
- These bosses were all prominent figures in Sloummont. To call Dominic “Father” in public like this, wouldn't it be a great loss of face if word got out?
- Dominic shifted his gaze toward Raelyn, who, in turn, signaled for Dominic to make his own decision.
- Dominic touched his nose before he finally spoke. “Gentlemen, let's forget about the whole 'calling me Father' thing! However, I do hope that you all will look out for me in the future when we're in Sloummont. After all, you are all older and much more experienced than I am...”
- With just a few words, he put all the bosses at ease. Meanwhile, Raelyn couldn't help but see Dominic in a new light!
- It turns out this Dominic really is quite capable!
- I knew my judgment couldn't have been that poor!
- Hmph!
- Such a good man... He better watch out. I'm going to make him mine tonight!
- The atmosphere relaxed, and Kenneth took Dominic's hands in his own, saying, “Dominic, tomorrow morning, I will personally take you to the company to complete the handover. Now, we must have a drink, pop open some champagne to celebrate, and we won't go home until we're drunk!”
- Unable to resist the persuasion of these bosses, Dominic had no choice but to join everyone in drinking. As he drank, he gradually became drunk...
- At that moment, at Grand Express, Wyatt was just about to finish his shift when he received a phone call. “Mr. Young, what brings you to call me? What? You want to fire Dominic? So it's that coward... No problem. I've been displeased with him for a long time...”
- Just after Wyatt ended his call with Martin Young, he received another call from Kenneth's secretary. “Mr. Sullivan,” she said, “you need to have the company tidied up by tomorrow morning. The boss is introducing a new owner who will be inspecting the premises. We cannot afford any mistakes. Do you understand?”
- “Understood!” Wyatt immediately responded with respect, yet he was completely unaware that the new boss was the very person he intended to dismiss.
- In the end, Dominic had drunk so much that he was in a daze, stumbling as he walked. It was Raelyn who ended up supporting Dominic, guiding him into her room.
- After helping Dominic clean up, Raelyn looked at him lying on the bed. She undressed and lay down next to him, admiring his handsome features. Suddenly, Raelyn realized that the young man who used to work for her had become somewhat of an enigma to her.
- What exactly is the story behind this Dominic?
- Knowing full well that the courier industry was a losing proposition, why on earth did Richie still heed Dominic's advice and buy it? There must be something going on... Had he really stumbled upon a treasure?
- However, given how heavily intoxicated Dominic was that night, it was unlikely that Raelyn could do much of anything!
- When Dominic woke up the next day, it was already past seven. Seeing Raelyn lying next to him, clad only in her undergarments, Dominic was taken aback. Gently, he moved Raelyn's leg off his own.
- He checked his clothes, relieved that he hadn't done anything reprehensible the day before.
- However, as he thought of Raelyn's attitude yesterday, a warmth filled his heart. Raelyn had dared to wield a bottle in his defense, so if something were to happen between him and Raelyn, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
- Dominic rose from his bed with a light touch, careful not to make a sound. After freshening up, he left a note on the table and turned to leave. But then, he paused, turned back, and gently kissed Raelyn on the cheek before finally heading downstairs.
- After Dominic left, Raelyn opened her eyes, her face slightly flushed with embarrassment. She reached up to touch her cheek. “This little rascal, he's absolutely incorrigible... What am I to do if I'm becoming addicted to you?”
- Raelyn got out of bed, barefoot, and picked up the note on the table. It read: Raelyn, if there's anything you can't handle, remember to call me. I can help you sort it out!
- As she looked at this note, warmth filled her heart. Yet, in the next moment, a touch of sorrow flickered in her eyes. The matter with Leopard could be easily settled, but as for Mr. Vaughn, could you really handle it?
- However, as she thought of the relationship between Dominic and Richie, a stir of emotion welled up in her heart. This little rascal... He might actually be able to lend a hand when the time comes!
- Dominic emerged from the Ray Bar, still riding that old bicycle of his. Judging by the time, it was clear that he was late again.
- However, Dominic was not in the slightest bit anxious today.
- Why the rush?
- Have you seen a boss who is always in a rush to get to work?
- At that moment, at Grand Express, Wyatt was pacing back and forth in front of a line of couriers, a roll of documents in his hand. “Where is Dominic, that little b*stard? Always late... He's driving me mad... Call him, call him again!” Wyatt barked at Zyron, who was standing next to him.
- With a helpless expression, Zyron said, “Mr. Sullivan, I've already made thirteen calls, but that brat just won't answer the phone!”
- “D*mn it!” Wyatt kicked the tricycle next to him fiercely. What the h*ll! The boss' secretary had said yesterday that they were going to introduce the new big boss today, and Dominic had to mess up at the crucial moment.
- If the new boss saw this, it would definitely leave a bad impression of me!
- I'll have him fired!
- This person must be fired! Even if Mr. Young hadn't given the heads up yesterday, I've been planning to dismiss Dominic!
- Either Dominic shouldn't come today, or he should avoid arriving exactly when the big boss is present. It would be a complete scene wrecker if that happened!
- Wyatt was in a fit of rage when Dominic, pushing an old bicycle, finally appeared at the company's entrance. Wyatt, taking two steps at a time, rushed over and swung a file, ready to strike Dominic on the head. “You idiot!” he bellowed, “Are you asking for trouble? Get in line immediately!”
