Chapter 11 Call Him Father
- After leaving the private room, Dominic looked for Richie in his contacts. He explained the situation and asked Richie to purchase Grand Express on his behalf.
- On the other end of the phone, Richie suddenly jumped up. “Ten million? Wait, let me catch my breath. Where did you get so much money from? And you want to buy a courier company. Have you lost your mind? Ray Bar, right? I'm just at the club next door. Wait for me. I'll come and find you right away!”
- Richie was a kind-hearted individual who, after hearing about Dominic's situation over the phone, didn't hesitate. He hung up and hurriedly made his way toward Ray Bar.
- Two minutes later, at the entrance of the bar, Richie hooked his arm around Dominic's neck and asked, “Buddy, what's really going on? How did you suddenly come into so much money?”
- Dominic had absolute trust in Richie. “This is a long story,” he said, “Just understand it as me suddenly receiving an inheritance and wanting to make some investments!”
- Dominic didn't want to elaborate further, and Richie, sensing this, didn't press him with more questions. “But even if you're investing, you shouldn't be investing in the courier industry! Haven't you seen that courier companies are operating at a loss?”
- Dominic landed a playful punch on Richie's shoulder. “All right, buddy. I'll explain the reasons to you later! Firstly, give me your card number so I can transfer the money to you. Later, you'll be in charge of signing the contract with Mr. Wendt...”
- After giving their instructions, the two quickly headed upstairs. As they ascended, Dominic cautioned Richie, “Mr. Bank, don't give us away! Also, don't reveal anything in our university WhatsApp group, understand? At most, just say that I won the lottery...”
- On the second floor, after Raelyn came out, she searched the entire second-floor restroom for Dominic but to no avail. She had no choice but to return to the private room, feeling helpless.
- Upon seeing Raelyn return alone with a troubled expression, Fred added fuel to the fire. “What happened? Where is he, Ms. Xenos? Did he slip away? I told you, those young men can't be relied upon...”
- Ian continued to stir the pot. “Ms. Xenos, why don't you choose one of us? Look at us. Each one of us is so reliable!”
- “All right, everyone. Let's stop it...” Kenneth had just begun to mediate when the private room's door was once again flung open. Leading the way, Dominic strode into the room.
- Fred's lips curled into a smirk. “Oh, isn't this our Mr. Lloyd? What's the matter? Why haven't you left yet? Didn't you say you were going to meet your classmate? Where's your classmate now? Haha...”
- The mockery from Fred had just reached its peak when he suddenly seemed to choke.
- That was because Fred saw a young man in a white suit following behind Dominic. It was none other than Richie, the eldest son of Bank Corporation.
- Raelyn also saw Richie, and a hint of confusion inevitably surfaced in her heart. Was this Richie, a classmate of Dominic's? But even if they were classmates, could Dominic's mere words really convince him to buy a loss-making company?
- “Greetings, Mr. Bank!”
- “Greetings, Mr. Bank!”
- Bank Corporation was a conglomerate in Sloummont.
- To put it simply, if these bosses wanted to operate in Sloummont, they had to show respect to Bank Corporation.
- Richie nodded at everyone without any unnecessary chatter. His gaze shifted toward Kenneth. “Mr. Wendt, my buddy Dominic told me that you're selling your company. I'm here to sign the contract... Just give me your bank account number, and I'll transfer the money to you immediately... However, I don't have much time to handle the company's handover, so I'll leave it all to my buddy here to take care of it. Is that okay?”
- “Ah... Mr. Bank, are you really going to buy my company?” Kenneth was taken aback for a moment.
- The entire contract signing process didn't even take five minutes. Once the contract was signed, Richie gave Dominic a nod, then turned around and left the private room.
- That left everyone in the private room exchanging glances. Was the company really bought just like that?
- Kenneth stared at the notification on his phone, indicating a deposit of ten million. There was also the signed contract on the table. It took him quite a while to regain his composure. “My goodness, did I really sell my company? Mr. Lloyd, you truly are my lucky charm... Haha, my real father, Mr. Lloyd, you are indeed my real father...”
- As his words fell, Kenneth tightly embraced Dominic, coming just short of giving Dominic a kiss.
- And standing by the side, Raelyn finally let out a sigh of relief.
- Unexpectedly, Dominic really has the capability. He's surprisingly on such good terms with Mr. Bank. He even managed to have Mr. Bank resolve the crisis at Mr. Wendt's company. How impressive!
- Inside the private room, both Fred and Ian, along with others, had awkward expressions on their faces.
- “Uh, I'm feeling a bit unwell in my stomach. I need to use the restroom first!”
- “My tooth is aching, so I need to step out for a bit!”
- As Fred and Ian spoke simultaneously, they planned to leave the private room.
- Meanwhile, Raelyn spoke up coldly. “No, don't, Mr. Yancey, Mr. Zimmer! I think I heard you two betting earlier. If Dominic manages to buy the company, you'll have to call him Father, right? Come on. Please go ahead!”
- Previously, these bosses had been subjecting Raelyn to a barrage of sarcastic remarks, and Raelyn had been feeling irritated for a while.
- “That was... just a joke, a mere joke... Why would you take it seriously, Ms. Xenos?”
- “Exactly, exactly! Mr. Lloyd is indeed a man of great talent and strategy, a true gentleman. We willingly admit defeat! Ms. Xenos has a discerning eye, recognizing talents when she sees one. She and Mr. Lloyd make such a handsome couple, haha! Isn't that right, Mr. Lloyd? What do you think about this...”
