Chapter 5
- Back then, Julliet had been so proud and arrogant that she mocked and ridiculed Camilla with every opportunity that she got. However now that the tables have turned, the latter was not going to let go of this opportunity to get back at the former.
- And so, Camilla raised a brow as she reached out to take Antonio's arm in hers. She smiled coquettishly as she said, "You know, Antonio, Julliet is still an old friend of ours. It has been ages since we'd last seen one another! How about we reminisce a little about the good old days, hmm?"
- Antonio did not say anything in reply. Instead, he simply looked back at Camilla indifferently.
- Julliet knew that she couldn't escape. After all, it was only a matter of time before she encountered a situation like this. Xaden had sent her here with the intention for the people whom she'd offended in the past to mock and ridicule her when they saw her here.
- Even if Camilla hadn't turned up today, there would still be many other people who would stir up trouble with the former when they visited the King Club.
- Julliet was resigned to her fate.
- She licked her dry lips slightly as she looked Ivory. She then said to the latter in a low voice, "Is it alright if I trouble you to inform the manager that a guest wants me to go over? I don't want her to think that I'm slacking off."
- Ivory was no a fool. She could tell that Camilla had ill intentions towards Julliet. However, she was so angry that the latter had hidden the fact that she'd been in prison from her that she turned away and ignored her.
- Julliet did not mind this too much and followed closely behind Camilla and Antonio. She was so quiet that it was almost as though she was a ghost drifting after them.
- After getting into the elevator, they quickly walked over to and soon found themselves standing in front of the VIP room. Camilla shot Julliet a knowing grin before slinging an arm around her and pushing the door open.
- The smell of alcohol which permeated throughout the room instantly invaded Julliet's nostrils.
- The room was so dim that she couldn't tell who was inside. All she could hear was an alcohol-laced voice drawling, "Ah, Young Master Parker, you're finally here. Don't you know that we've all already started drinking? That's it. As punishment, you're going to have to down three cups. Camilla, there's no bargaining with us. Do it this instant!"
- Instead of agreeing, Camilla grinned before walking over to the corner to turn the lights on. The room was instantly lit up such that everything and everyone inside was visible within seconds.
- Ignoring the groans and protests of the people in the room, Camilla shoved Julliet forward as she smirked, "Everyone, look who I've brought with me."
- Julliet instantly felt many pair of eyes staring at her. They were all scrutinizing her, ridiculing her, scorning at her.
- Even though Julliet's palms were sweating badly, her face remained calm and composed.
- Just then, someone shouted, "Isn't she the daughter of the Harris Family, Julliet? The one who'd gone to prison for attempted murder? Is she even human?"
- The entire room instantly started chattering and murmuring away. Camilla smirked before using her elbow to bump Julliet's shoulder. She said. "Well, what are you waiting for? Say hello to everyone! Are you deaf or what?"
- Julliet bit her lips as she looked up at the room full of people who were mocking and sneering at her.
- "I...I'm Julliet Harris."
- Antonio, who was standing at the side, couldn't help but tilt his head and furrow his brows.
- …
- Colourful and vibrant neon lights flashed in the distance as cold and misty air engulfed the entire city.
- Secretary Hill stood in the office and looked towards the desk cautiously. He informed, "Victoria called from the clubhouse. She asked if we wanted to step in."
- Sat in the leather office chair was Xaden. He was wearing a well-tailored custom-made grey suit which accentuated and complemented his figure well. He was fiddling with a midnight black lighter with one hand, the ring on his index finger shimmering slightly under the light in his office as he did so.
- Xaden looked like he was deep in thought. After being quiet for a moment, he spoke up in a low and sonorous voice, "Was Antonio there as well?"
- "Yes, he was."
- The lighter in Xaden's hand clicked slightly as he lit a cigarette. He smirked, "Since Antonio is there, let them have a good time. Tell Victoria not to intervene."
- Xaden couldn't help but close his eyes as he recalled just how submissive and compliant Julliet looked. He couldn't believe that she could become like this in merely two years. It was almost as though she'd become another person.
- The cigarette at his fingertips burned slowly. It was a long night ahead.
- …
- Julliet couldn't remember how many glasses of wine she'd drink by then. Her stomach felt like it was on fire. She felt like she might die should she drink even just another mouthful.
- Even though, she couldn't even beg to be let off. After all, she was well aware that no one here would spare her and let her off.
