Chapter 13 Finally They Kissed
- The room fell silent as if everyone was holding their breath.
- If anyone else had said it, people might have thought it was a joke.
- But when Ashton spoke, it was a horror story come to life.
- “Call the police! Call them immediately!” Iris cried out in panic, “What we've done is illegal. We need to call the police!”
- What they had done was at most attempted murder, and they wouldn't die.
- However, falling into Ashton's hands was a fate worse than death.
- “Very well.” Ashton continued to stare at Hendrix. “Anyone else wants to object?”
- “Ashton!” Hendrix's eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Ashton with all his might.
- As always, Ashton looked at him condescendingly with an endless coldness in his eyes, devoid of any emotion on his face.
- “Don't think you've won! This time you got lucky! You're a monster! Heaven won't protect a monster! I'll be waiting for the day you go to hell!!”
- As he finished speaking, his bloodied mouth opened in a sinister smile.
- But in the next second, Bethany dashed over from beside Fiona, catching everyone off guard.
- She slapped Hendrix repeatedly with both hands.
- Hendrix was stunned. His smile faded away.
- Bethany then grabbed him by the collar, her gaze fierce, “Hendrix, only you will go to hell, Ashton never will.” Her voice was low, like a demon's whisper.
- Only Hendrix heard it.
- His eyes filled with terror.
- “You're not Bethany! You're not!”
- The real Bethany won't have this look or this aura. She's a demon! A demon!
- Bethany watched Hendrix's breakdown with a chilling smile spreading across her lips.
- That smile made Hendrix even more terrified.
- At that moment, someone pulled on Bethany's hoodie from behind, dragging her back.
- She turned around in confusion to see Ashton, his brows furrowed.
- Bethany thought he was jealous.
- She quickly explained, “He insulted you...”
- “Dirty.” Ashton stared at Bethany's hands.
- Hendrix had spat blood, staining his clothes. Bethany had grabbed his collar, getting blood on her hands.
- “Go wash it off.” Ashton pushed her toward the door, his tone full of disdain.
- Bethany was speechless.
- If she hadn't reincarnated, she would have fought Ashton right then and there.
- “Grandma, I'm going to wash my hands,” Bethany glanced at Fiona and pouted.
- To be fair, Fiona was angry at what was happening, but now she was supporting the couple.
- Why are these two so harmonious and affectionate today? Beth had rushed up to hit the person who scolded Ashton. Ashton told her to wash her hands, being annoying as always, but she did as told.
- “Yes, it's really dirty. Go wash it quickly!” Fiona nodded repeatedly.
- On the side, Helen rolled her eyes.
- Everyone's acting this way. What's so good about Bethany? I'm speechless.
- Just a moment ago, in her fury, Bethany didn't feel anything even though Hendrix's blood was on her hand.
- Once she had calmed down, she felt nauseous.
- With the faucet running, she scrubbed furiously until her hands turned a raw red, yet she continued to wash.
- “What are you doing?” The icy rebuke interrupted Bethany's self-torture.
- She looked up in shock at Ashton standing in the doorway.
- “Dirty,” Bethany instinctively replied.
- Ashton looked at her, then sneered, “Isn't he your beloved brother Hendrix? Weren't you just exchanging heartfelt sentiments in the banquet hall?”
- Bethany was shocked.
- Back then, she had indeed said those words, purely to annoy Hendrix.
- How did Ashton overhear it?
- “Ouch!” Bethany thought for a moment, then cried out in pain, “Ashton, come and see, my hands are numb and I can't move them! Did I dislocate them from scrubbing too hard?” She sobbed.
- “Who told you to wash your hands like this?”
- Ashton took a step forward, his eyebrows knitted tightly together as he reached out to examine Zhu Yan's hand.
- Unexpectedly, the next second, Bethany grabbed his wrist.
- She tiptoed to kiss his lips.
- She kissed him!
- Finally, she kissed him!
- Ashton was always calm and composed. To put it in perspective, even if faced with a catastrophic matter he wouldn't bat an eyelid.
- But now, his mind went blank.
- He had even forgotten what he had come for.
- All he could sense was the softness pressing against his lips.
