Chapter 31 Unspoken Desires
- “I don’t want a home this big.”
- Reid shifted his gaze to Ella. Hand in hand, Reid and Ella made their way down the corridor toward the dining hall. The other guests will shortly assemble there for the evening meal. Even though night had fallen and thrown its shadow across the sky, their location shone brightly like a Paradise Island. Its brilliant light bathed the area in a magical ambiance that bewitched anyone who witnessed it. Ella found something quite interesting when she was exploring the house. She soon realized that the whole estate relied heavily on solar energy for its electrical needs. This discovery explained why the entire island was illuminated with a comforting glow. The whole place seemed to be holding its breath in the eerie hush. Only the cold wind’s eerie whistling could be heard, reverberating through the still night.
- “I would get lost in a house this big!” The tone of Ella’s voice changed as she spoke. “It takes me a whole hour just to get to the bathroom and then another hour to return to my room. Just thinking about it makes me tired.”
