• I heard murmurs; it seemed like people were talking—no, arguing. I tried to open my eyes, but it seemed difficult to do so. They felt so heavy.
• I tried again, but nothing happened. Why was my head pounding so hard? It felt like I had been hit by a truck. My whole body was aching so badly. I tried to move, but just like my eyes, even my body felt heavy like a bulldozer. Even breathing felt so painful. Instead of moving and opening my eyes, I focused on the voices. With all the energy I could muster, I focused on hearing what they were saying.
