• As if fate was playing a cruel joke, David and Bianca were seated at the same table as Michael and Valerie, directly across from the newlywed couple. Bianca could not seem to tear her envious gaze away from the dashing stranger Valerie had introduced as her husband.
• There was no denying Michael Donovan cut an extremely attractive figure in his impeccably-tailored tuxedo. Valerie had certainly traded up in a big way from her former fiancé. Watching the two of them engage in hushed, intimate conversation at the table sparked an unmistakable resentment in Bianca.
• As the charity auction finally began, Michael leaned closer to murmur in Valerie's ear. "It would be wise for you to make your presence known at this event."
