Chapter 4 Betrayal

  • Naomi's POV:
  • My father looked at me with disdain. "Luckily, you and Noelle are only identical in appearance. Your character couldn't be compared to her at all! As my daughter and a member of Bluemoon Pack, you've degraded yourself by mixing with a filthy Rogue, disgracing both me and the pack!"
  • Noelle shot me a scornful look as well. "Dad, don't forget, she grew up in a small, remote pack. It's no surprise she has no sense of shame. Who knows what other embarrassing things she'll do in the future to bring dishonor to you and the Bluemoon Pack."
  • "That's not true ... "
  • I wanted to argue.
  • Even though I was raised by my mother in a small, remote pack, she had taught me self-respect and dignity. She taught me to be a werewolf with integrity.
  • Besides, I worked hard and got into the Werewolf Ivy League University. There was no way that I could bring shame to the Bluemoon Pack.
  • As for the Rogue they were talking about, I had no idea how he ended up in my room.
  • However, my father gave me no chance to explain. He glared at me coldly. "If I had known this would happen, I would never have allowed you to return to the Bluemoon Pack! Now that you're worthless, our pack has no use for someone as lowly and selfish as you!"
  • A sinking feeling formed in my gut. "Dad, what are you going to do?"
  • He stared at me with icy eyes, and in that moment, the overwhelming presence of his aura paralyzed me. "As Alpha of Bluemoon Pack, I hereby exile Naomi. From this moment forward, Naomi is no longer a member of Bluemoon Pack."
  • As soon as those words left his lips, I felt something snap inside me. The bond between my father, my pack, and me was severed completely. An unbearable sense of loneliness swallowed me whole.
  • I was now a Rogue, an outcast despised by everyone.
  • My father didn't stop there. He coldly warned me, "Don't ever claim to be my daughter again. I can't bear the shame."
  • With that, he turned and left.
  • I watched his cold, indifferent back, unable to believe how heartless he could be. First, he tried to hand me over to a monster like Joshua for the sake of an alliance. Now, when I was no longer useful, he cast me out of the pack without a second thought.
  • He had never truly considered me his daughter. He didn't care if I survived as a Rogue or not.
  • Any faint hope I had of receiving his fatherly love was crushed by the harsh reality.
  • Apart from my mother and my sister, no one cared about me in this world.
  • I instinctively looked at Noelle and called out bitterly, "Noelle ... You're all I have left."
  • However, Noelle only smiled as she looked at me. "Naomi, how did you like the Rogue I arranged for you? Judging by the marks on your body, you must've had a wonderful time last night."
  • Upon hearing that, my eyes widened in disbelief. "Wh-what do you mean? Are you telling me that the Rogue in my room last night ... was your doing?"
  • "Of course," she said casually. "Someone like you, a worthless girl without a wolf, obviously belongs with a lowly Rogue. What made you think you were ever worthy of Snowmoon Pack's Beta?"
  • Her arrogant expression sent a chill down my spine.
  • I struggled to find my voice. "So, you never intended to help me. You only wanted to lure me into this room, to let a Rogue violate me and turn me into someone everyone would scorn?"
  • "Naomi, don't forget—you're now the lowly Rogue everyone despise so much!" Noelle laughed as her eyes gleamed with malicious delight. "Why are you looking at me like that? You didn't want to become Mr. Quinn's mate anyway, right? Now you don't have to."
  • Her twisted malicious smile reminded me of a wicked witch.
  • I couldn't comprehend what was happening.
  • The sister I had trusted more than anyone, the only family I had left, had set me up, turning me into a Rogue that everyone would despise.
  • My entire body trembled uncontrollably as I shouted, "Why? Why would you do this to me? I'm your sister! I'm your biological sister!"
  • "You are not my sister!" Noelle suddenly screamed. The beautiful face that we shared warped into something twisted and ugly, like an old witch.
  • "That woman was your mother! Not mine! When she left Dad and broke their mate bond, she took you with her and left me behind in that den of wolves! From that moment on, I had no mother nor sister!"
  • "No, that's not how it happened ... "
  • I wanted to tell her that our mother had wanted to take both of us, but our father refused to let her. He manipulated her, convincing her that as a werewolf from a small pack, she had nothing to offer Noelle. However, he could give Noelle the world, grooming her to be the future heir if she stayed.
  • Noelle didn't give me a chance to speak. Her voice was hysterical as she raged, "Dad formed a new family with his second mate. They had their own daughter. Do you even know how I survived all those years with the Northcutts? Where were you, Naomi, when I needed you the most?"
  • "That's not how it was—"
  • "I don't want to hear your excuses!" Noelle screamed again, her aura filled with rage and hostility, nearly forcing me to my knees.
  • "Get out of my sight now! Or else, I won't hesitate to kill a filthy Rogue like you!"
