• Everywhere became dark all of a sudden, and while I was still trying to figure out what was going on, Brenda's wolf triggered mine. We needed to communicate with each other. I told her what was on my mind, and she warned me not to trust the rest of the wolves whose lives I had preserved.
• I let out a wild chuckle when they started asking me when they would be allowed to leave. I didn't ask anyone of them to rise to the feet. They had been on their knees all day long.
