Chapter 5 The Lady From The Night
- Ethan's POV
- The Lady from the Night.
- My index finger tapped repeatedly on my lap as the vehicle rolled along the road, leading us to my mansion. When I walked into that door and saw her face, I couldn't believe it. A part of me thought that I was dreaming or imagining things, but here she was, seated with me in the same vehicle.
- I sneaked a peak at her and she was ashen with fear. A smile curled my lips at that. I couldn't tell why I was smiling, but the idea of her being afraid of me just managed to do something to me.
- She knew who I was, and that was why she was scared. She had probably thought she could hide from me, but then I was a man of many means. I always got whatever it was that I wanted.
- "And here, we have arrived," I grunted out to her and nodded to my large mansion when my car rolled to a stop in front of the mansion.
- She raised her head and stared at the building.
- There was no detectable emotion on her face until I finally saw it: the shock. Her pale ashen skin was drawn tight with wonder as her lips parted, staying wide open in shock.
- "Don't worry, you will get used to a house like this," I said and climbed out of my car.
- With quick strides, I arrived at her side and helped her out of the car. My security was supposed to do this, but since she was a new bride, she deserved some form of tender loving from me.
- "Thank you." She mumbled and I led her up the steps and into the house. If I felt she had wonder on her face, then whatever light sparked in her eyes when we walked into my home could light up the world for ages.
- Her eyes were fixated on everything looking at everything. It was so funny, and I almost burst out laughing at her. What the hell was she expecting from me? That I would be a dirt poor Alpha? How, then, was I able to find her and buy her over?
- "This will be your new home for the rest of your life. Have a great day." I said to her and walked away, leaving her even more shocked in front of my guards and servants.

- I was seated at my desk when Logan strolled in with a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes as soon as I saw him and intentionally kept my gaze away from him. This was what he liked, to taunt me with every opportunity that he got.
- "For someone so obsessed with getting her, you are not drooling over her the way I had expected. News reaching me says that you left your new mate and wife alone on the ground floor of the mansion. Why?" He asked and without waiting for my answer, he burst out into laughter, howling like a fool.
- "Can you just please shut up?" I hissed at him when I was tired of his laughter.
- "Sure. My lips are sealed. Anyway, she is a beautiful damsel and I think I understand why you were so obsessed with her. Gosh!" He whistled.
- My eyes thinned into thin silts and the mind link between the both of us was activated. "I am not obsessed with her. I will never be obsessed with a woman again. Is that clear?" I barked at him through the mental connection we had.
- "Yes, sir." He nodded his head and became more serious.
- "The security team just handed me this. It is their findings about your new bride. I think there are some things in there that you might want to know about." He said to me,
- I looked down at the iPad in his hands and, after a brief moment, took it from his hand. There was a lot I didn't know about Maddie except for the fact that I had taken her virginity in the most mind-blowing sex ever.
- I couldn't say if she felt the same about the sex, but I felt insulted that she would get up and leave without bothering to say something to me. No woman had ever done that to me and it hurt my ego in the worst way possible.
- It was the main reason I had decided to find her and make her get married to me. If she was so repulsed by my presence, then she was going to be surrounded by it every day of her life.
- Moreover, the council had been singing into my ears the need for a mate and Luna. Since I had taken her virginity away, it was more honorable to get married to her. I was killing two birds with one stone.
- Sliding through the screen of the iPad, I found a lot of interesting information about her, much of which I already knew from my brief investigation of her earlier on.
- "This isn't important information. Why the hell are you showing me this?" I raised the iPad, annoyed that my time was being wasted.
- "Patience, Ethan. Anyway, since you are in a hurry, swipe to the last slide." He offered.
- I flashed him a suspicious glance and did as he had said. The moment I read through the information on that page, a haunting chill settled on me.
- I could hear my wolf hissing and prancing around angrily. Our jealousy collectively rises to the surface. Maddie was pregnant.
- "You have to make sure that you do not make a bastard your heir. I don't know what you want to do, but don't ruin your lineage." Logan said.
- As much as what he said was right, that wasn't my reason for being angry. My anger was from the thought of her being with another man. Her virginity and supposed innocence were the main deal for me.
- But if she could be pregnant, there was a very high chance she had been with other men and that the baby wasn't mine. There was no way in hell I was going to let that stand.
