Chapter 5 Genius Doctor
- "I take full responsibility. Alternative medicine is profound and vast. If you don't comprehend it, please refrain from underestimating it," Francis declared.
- He possessed the abilities of the Ghost Doctor, akin to a pioneer in alternative medicine. Whenever someone disparaged alternative medicine in his presence, he couldn't abide it.
- The doctor with glasses sneered, "You're shameless. Just because you know a bit about medicine, you dare to brag here. If something were to go wrong with this child, would you be accountable?"
- Francis' expression turned cold. "If you persist in removing the needle, you're endangering lives!"
- "Hmph, I think you're the one endangering lives. You're ignorant yet pretend to be knowledgeable. Leave immediately!" the doctor retorted coldly.
- Observing the scene, James shook his head in disappointment and remarked, "If the family consents, then proceed with the removal. These silver needles can only temporarily suppress the toxins."
- He grasped that Francis was advocating for alternative medicine, but regrettably, he couldn't even remedy the child's poisoning, let alone Francis.
- "I sincerely hope you can successfully cure this child!"
- He let out a soft sigh.
- "I consent to the removal of the needle, if it means saving my child," Rosalie Owen, the child's mother, affirmed, nodding vigorously as she swiftly signed the treatment consent form.
- As the child was escorted out, James meticulously sterilised the silver needle with alcohol before passing it to Francis.
- "If you can discern that I utilised the silver needle to alleviate his toxins, it indicates your genuine understanding of acupuncture. You may borrow this set of silver needles," he remarked.
- "Thank you, Dr. Hunt."
- With genuine gratitude, Francis promptly returned to his sister's ward with the borrowed silver needles.
- With curiosity piqued, James trailed closely after him.
- Approaching Nora, Francis deftly extracted two silver needles with practised ease, as though he had performed the action countless times before.
- James narrowed his eyes, murmuring, "This is interesting."
- He also noticed Nora lying on the sickbed, with clotting near the nerves of her brain. Whether it was acupuncture or surgery, the risks were exceedingly high.
- With a steady hand, Francis inserted the first silver needle into Nora's spirit court acupoint.
- James was astonished. The spirit court acupoint, located on the head, demanded extreme caution when inserting the needle due to the presence of the skull, to prevent any deviation.
- Nevertheless, Francis executed his actions with swiftness, precision in acupoint placement, and applied the appropriate amount of force.
- "Is he truly a young man? Even seasoned medical experts may not possess such adept techniques," James marvelled.
- With each successive insertion of seven more needles, Francis' actions left James almost speechless.
- Each needle was swift and precise in its placement on the acupoint, and the force and positioning of insertion were firm, without any deviation.
- In that instant, James' eyes rested upon Francis, and he could only utter two words in his mind. He's a genius doctor!
- As Francis inserted the eighth silver needle, dark red clots mixed with some fine powder flowed out from Nora's right ear.
- James gasped in astonishment, "Is it finished already?"
- With that in mind, James stepped forward to assess Nora's pulse. "Steady pulse, normal heart rate."
- Afterwards, he inspected Nora's eyes and tongue, and remarked incredulously, "Young friend, I must acknowledge my oversight. I hadn't realised that you are truly a genius doctor."
- "A genius doctor?"
- Francis smiled noncommittally. "Dr. Hunt, your praise is too generous."
- "After forty years of acupuncture practice, your skill has left me humbled," James admitted, impressed.
- Lydia marvelled at the instruments before her. While she couldn't diagnose patients simply by observation like James, she had a good grasp of the instruments' functions.
- "No surgery, no medication, and the cerebral haemorrhage is healed just like that?"
- Lydia had only recently graduated from medical school, and she hadn't even heard of such things, let alone witnessed them.
- James smiled somewhat proudly and said, "Alternative medicine is profound and extensive. Lydia, there's still much for you to learn."
- At that moment, an extremely furious woman's voice echoed from outside the ward.
- "Where are you, Dr. Hunt? You owe me my son's life!"
