Chapter 6 Shift the Blame!
- Rosalie rushed into the room, tears streaming down her face.
- "Dr. Hunt, you claim to be an experienced alternative medicine doctor, but you're just a pretender! You randomly stuck needles into my son, and now he's dead because of you! I want you to pay with your life!"
- She rushed in, teeth bared and claws outstretched, charging toward James.
- James was confused and asked, "What's going on? Wasn't your son taken away by the modern medicine doctor?"
- "It's all because of you, old doctor! You randomly stuck needles into Ms. Owen's son, causing the toxins to spread throughout his body. He's now beyond saving and can only wait for death," the doctor with glasses walked in from outside the ward and said coldly.
- The young man beside him couldn't contain his anger and shouted, "James, let me tell you, you've killed my aunt's son. Get ready to face a lawsuit. Alternative medicine? Huh, you're just a quack!"
- Francis furrowed his brow. He couldn't bear to watch anymore.
- James' decision to use the thirteen needles to suppress the poison in the young boy was not wrong. In the absence of an antidote, it was the best choice available.
- "You were the ones who took the child away. Now that there's a medical issue, you blame Dr. Hunt. Do you have any shame left?" Francis demanded.
- The young man retorted sharply, "Who do you think you are? Do you have the authority to speak here? If you don't want to face legal repercussions, then shut your mouth. I assure you, you won't last long in Ashenwald."
- Francis' eyes hardened, and a sense of killing intent emanated from him. "Are you threatening me?"
- The young man's body stiffened. For some reason, he was intimidated by his gaze.
- "And furthermore, I can testify that the child only ran into trouble after you took him away," Francis added.
- The doctor with glasses, upon hearing this, looked a bit flustered and immediately shouted, "Testify? You, a trash, understand medicine? If you don't know anything, then keep your mouth shut!"
- At this moment, as Francis was about to say something, a middle-aged man with steady steps walked in from outside.
- "Dr. Hunt, my son still has a chance. Please, see if you can do something, even if it's just suppressing the toxins," the middle-aged man implored.
- "Uncle Anthony, why are you pleading with this quack? It was he who killed Dylan!"
- Slap!
- The middle-aged man's palm landed squarely on the young man's face. "You idi*t! My son isn't dead yet."
- "Anthony, why did you hit Jayden? It was this quack who caused … "
- Rosalie burst into tears as she began to speak, but before she could finish, she was silenced by the icy glare from Anthony.
- Anthony exclaimed angrily, "I asked you to take Dylan to see Dr. Hunt, but what did you do? I was only half an hour late, and you almost got the child killed."
- "But ... but Dr. Hunt said he couldn't cure the poison. Jayden brought this professor who said there's a fifty per cent chance of saving Dylan, so I … " Rosalie stuttered, trying to explain herself.
- Anthony snorted coldly, then respectfully bowed to James. "Dr. Hunt, my wife has been foolish. I humbly request your help. If you can save my son, I am willing to offer a reward of 750,000 dollars."
- The glasses-wearing doctor shook his head nearby. "It's no use pleading with him. He's the one who killed your son. Although your son still has a breath, there's no medicine that can save him."
- Slap!
- "Do you think it's your turn to interrupt me?"
- With one swift motion, Anthony delivered a slap across the glasses-wearing doctor's face. While others might not believe in alternative medicine, he had full faith in it.
- For he had witnessed firsthand the miraculous effects of acupuncture performed by James.
- Taking a deep breath, James said, "A doctor must show compassion. I'll go take a look."
- With those words, he bowed deeply to Francis once again. "Mr. Anthony Shaw has some acquaintance with me. I fear that the poison afflicting that child may be beyond my ability to cure. I wonder if I could ask you to accompany me and take a look?"
- James was very polite, his tone sincere as he made the request.
- Anthony looked at James in astonishment, unable to understand why he would show such respect to this young man.
- Moreover, it seemed that this young man's medical skills surpassed James.
- It's impossible!
- Indeed, in the realm of alternative medicine in Ashenwald, James was already a revered figure. How could someone so young possibly surpass him in medical skills?
- Despite his doubts, Anthony maintained a polite demeanour and said, "Then please accompany us. If you have any good ideas, I will surely reward you generously."
- The glasses-wearing doctor watched the scene with resentment from the side. "Hmph, that child's poison has reached his heart. Even if the gods were to intervene, they couldn't save him. It's futile for anyone to try. Just wait to embarrass yourselves!"
