Chapter 5 New Pet

  • AEMILIO
  • Her name was so delicious, and it only made me desirous of her. I didn't understand the attraction, but somehow, I realized it would be nice to have her on my team. I would handle her better than the rest.
  • "That's a nice name you have there," I said calmly.
  • She said nothing to that effect, and Inació whined that she was not the right person for me. I ignored him like a fly, wondering why he wouldn't shut his mouth. For the first time, I noticed that she wore skimpy clothing. This was nice. She was good at the whole game, more than I had assumed. She would serve me handy as time went on.
  • I took her by the hand, and we walked to the side, away from Inació ears. She tried to pull her hands off, and I let her do as she pleased.
  • "Why did you drag me here?" She whined.
  • I smirked. "Did you think I would be interested in making your stripe before me?" I asked back.
  • Her eyes went wild in shock. "No, I...What I'm trying to say is that I didn't think in that direction. I would never have such a vulgar thought for a gentleman like you," she whined.
  • "Ok, fine," I said impatiently. "I don't have time to chat with you right now because I'm in a situation. So, I would go straight to the point. Would you like me to free you from this horrible place?"
  • "Yes," she blurted out without a moment's hesitation.
  • But then, I noticed she was crestfallen as she flipped her hair down her back. I could only imagine what she might think, but I didn't care. I was a businessman, and it was essential to know what I was getting into at every point.
  • "So..."
  • "Wait," she said quickly.
  • I raised my brow at her. "What is it?"
  • She looked around to be sure that no one was loitering as she said, "I know that you wouldn't do something for me without there being a catch. You want something, right? What is it? I need to know what I'm getting into," she whined.
  • I smirked. "And, if I told you, would you refuse?"
  • She hesitated a bit, and I could see that she was torn on which decision she would make at that moment, which made me smile inwardly. She was a desperate beauty who wanted to escape. Her type came rare, but still, I was pleased that she wished to put up a fight.
  • "Well," she said as she looked at the Inació. "I don't want you to change your mind, but I just want to prepare my heart for whatever it could be," she trailed off.
  • I nodded as I placed my hands on my belt. "I will tell you everything when you get free from here. Look, you need to know one thing: I don't tolerate a 'no' for an answer. If I save you, and you try to double-cross me by being difficult, then you wouldn't like me anymore. I'm a simple man, and I like my things simple, too," I said firmly.
  • She stepped closer to me, looking me in the eye. "I don't know if I would regret this, but I think going with you would be better than staying with these people. I don't want them to be around me anymore, and I need my freedom. I'm ready to do anything to ensure this happens," she said feverishly.
  • "Good! Now, wait," I said and walked back to Inació.
  • His eyes were glistening with suspicion, but I could care less about him. My issue was with Raimundo, and he had the power to turn this around if he so wished, but I know his love for money would win. Whatever the case, Evangelina was coming with me, and there would be no question about it.
  • I signaled for Bruno to come with me. He looked rather pale, which I found amusing. Bruno never liked to be caught in a wildfire, but I wanted to play dangerous games. It was what kept me at the edge, and if that little cupcake were going to put me in that situation where I would use my gun, then I would go for it.
  • Raimundo was ahead by a couple of steps. He seemed pleased with himself with the way he walked. I quickly caught up with him with my long strides, and he turned to me with a smile. He felt he could reel me into this partnership. Who knows if that can be done?
  • "I almost thought I lost you there, Capone," he said quickly.
  • I slid to a halt, and he did the same, too, looking at me curiously. "You didn't lose me, Raimundo. I was looking at that beauty over there," I pointed toward the direction of Evangelina.
  • Bruno stepped closer to me. "What are you doing, boss?" He asked in shock.
  • I tapped him quickly on the arm, and he stepped back. I didn't need to look at him twice to see that he was anxious about how things were going. I was, too, but it had to be done.
  • "Oh, Evangelina?" Raimundo said as he looked over at her. He turned to me. "You want her for the night?"
  • "No," I said. He raised his brow, slightly confused, and I relished in it. "I need to get her as mine. I want to buy her."
  • "But..."
  • "What?"
  • "Well, I can't sell her, Amelio. She is one of my best girls here, and I know what I went through to make her mine. It's not something I can easily give up just like that," he said quickly.
  • I dug my hands into my pocket as I watched Inació approach this place. Evangelina was still where she was standing, but she wasn't looking in our direction. Even from this place, I could tell that she was shaking. Raimundo and his gang were brutal to women, and that was something I wouldn't be able to tolerate at any moment. I just had to do something to ensure she would be mine.
  • I turned back to Raimundo, who was playing with his tobacco. "Let's strike a deal. I would give you a hundred million pounds for her," I said calmly.
  • He frowned lightly. "You don't understand. She can't be sold."
  • "Five hundred million?" I asked easily.
  • Raimundo gave me a confused look. I couldn't blame him. She didn't look like someone who would have piqued my interest. But it was her lucky day, and I didn't make careless offers. Inació finally arrived, and he was saying something to Raimundo. I ignored them as I looked back to Evangelina, who was kicking some invincible thing at her feet.
  • She must be anxious.
  • "Well... What do you say?" I asked calmly.
  • Raimundo sighed. "I can give you another girl," he said instead.
  • I frowned lightly as I brushed my watch. What was his problem? He was being so difficult, and it was not right. I thought hard and remembered I was here because he wanted us to be partners. I could play along with that and get Evangelina quickly without stress.
  • "Ok, let's do it this way. What if I agree we can become partners in exchange for her."
  • "Wait, what?" Raimundo asked in shock.
  • I shrugged slightly. "Yes, I'm serious."
  • "Why do you want her so bad?"
  • I looked at Bruno, and for the first time, I smiled. "That is my problem. Inació told me she was stubborn. It would be nice to tame her to my satisfaction."
  • Raimundo laughed at that and calmly told Inació to light his cigarette. He looked at me for some time, and I could see the wheels of his mind turning as he tried to see if any of these was a good bargain. It was slightly amusing what I could make people do sometimes.
  • "Ok, we would be partners," he said quickly.
  • I moved closer to him. "This is not just getting some drugs on the booth. You realize what this means, right?"
  • His smile dissolved, and he became serious. "I know it. I would gladly part with Evangelina for this chance to come to me."
  • "Ok, let's shake on it."
  • Inació looked depressed, and I stifled a laugh at his expression. He had no idea who he was messing with now. I dragged Bruno away from there, and we walked back to Evangelina. She looked like she was about to cry but was holding herself together.
  • "Let's go."
  • "What did you say?"
  • I rolled my eyes inward as I walked away. I knew she would follow, and I didn't need to turn to see that. Evangelina was trapped to me now, and there would be no means of escape.
