Chapter 35
- I liked running with Autumn, she kept pace and there wasn’t any of that chatter people thought was required. All that could be heard was the in-synch fall of our shoes on the ground and gentle breathing. It was nice, having another female to run with. I always felt like I had to run harder and take longer strides with the men.
- Four guards rode past us on their horses, I gave them a simple acknowledgment with a bob of my head, I didn’t want to throw off my rhythm.
- I wasn’t feeling much better than I had last night, but this was helping. Jogging a hundred miles wasn’t going to erase Emil’s touch from my mind, or his words from my memory, but my head was clearer. If I could keep it up, my resolve might not be so cracked either.
