Chapter 6 The Heir of the Shaw Family

  • As Jaymore thought about this, he could not help but look down at Kelsey's melons. Whoa, her front assets are enormous!
  • Noticing his gaze, Kelsey chided with a scowl, "Why are you staring at me?"
  • "Nothing," Jaymore replied with a smile.
  • Maddy could not hide her contempt for him. She scoffed, "Jaymore, I can't believe you're a playboy trying to make a move on Kelsey. You loser should consider yourself lucky to have married into the Moore Family! Have you no shame?"
  • Chelsea furrowed her brow at the situation. She had hoped her husband would be different upon his return from the border. To her dismay, however, not only did he become a blowhard, but he also developed a wandering eye.
  • Jaymore was left speechless by Maddy's accusations. All I did was take a glance. How does that make me a playboy?
  • Knock! Knock!
  • Just then, there was a knock at the door.
  • Maddy cried in excitement, "It's got to be my husband!"
  • She hurried to the door and answered it. A young man walked in. "Oh, honey!" she cried out, throwing herself into the man's arms.
  • The young man was none other than her husband Declan Shaw. He embraced her in return and glanced at Chelsea, a hint of scorching desire gleaming in his eyes.
  • The truth was, he used to court Chelsea. After all, being the most attractive woman in Walstino, she was the woman of every man's dream. Unfortunately, she later chose to marry a loser live-in husband, which was the reason he settled for Maddy instead.
  • Suddenly, he noticed Jaymore beside her. He could not help but ask, "Darling, who is this guy?"
  • "Honey, let me introduce you to Jaymore Reed, the infamous loser son-in-law of the Moore Family and Chelsea's live-in husband!" Maddy replied with a sneer on her face.
  • Learning that Jaymore was the Moore Family's live-in son-in-law, Declan instantly frowned in disdain. He came up to Jaymore and boasted in a condescending manner, "So you're Chelsea's live-in husband? I'm Declan Shaw, Maddy's husband and the heir of the Shaw Family in Walstino! I heard you went to the border five years ago. How are you doing now?"
  • "No, I've left the military," Jaymore replied, deadpan.
  • "What? You've left the military? Haha!" Declan laughed. He mocked, "Oh, Jaymore, I never imagined you spent five years at the border and achieved nothing. What a loser, indeed! How can a loser like you be worthy of Chelsea?"
  • Jaymore said nothing in response to his taunts. As the illustrious God of War of Estren, he had no interest in arguing with a spoiled brat.
  • "Excuse me!" Declan called out.
  • The resort owner promptly came in. He asked in humble reverence, "Mr. Declan, how can I help you?"
  • Declan was a scion of the Shaw Family in Walstino—someone whom he, a resort owner, could not afford to displease.
  • Declan's eyes darted across everyone in the room. He said with a smile, "Today's my wife's birthday. It's a special occasion, and since everyone's here, bring us the finest wine you've got."
  • "No problem." The resort owner nodded and left.
  • A little while later, he showed up again, presenting a bottle of 1982 Chinote Clairet worth hundreds of thousands.
  • Seeing Declan order the expensive wine for her, Maddy coquettishly flattered, "Oh, honey, you're really spoiling me today!"
  • Darting a glance at Chelsea, she sneered, "Chelsea, look at my husband. He remembers my birthday and ordered a bottle of 1982 Chinote Clairet worth hundreds of thousands for the occasion. Your husband, on the other hand, is a complete loser! He spent five years at the border and came back with nothing! If I were you, I would have divorced him long ago."
  • Chelsea wore a bitter expression. Back in their school days, she was the campus belle, while Maddy was merely her shadow. But now, her marriage to Jaymore had caused her to lose face. This deepened her disgust toward him.
