Chapter 15 Unexpected Marriage Proposal

• Leaving Moore Residence, Jaymore wandered the streets alone, feeling lost. Despite his efforts, he couldn't seem to win over a woman's true affection.
• Ring! Ring! Ring!... His phone interrupted his thoughts, and he saw it was Malinda calling.
• "Mr. Reed, my family's throwing a party tonight, and we'd love for you to come," she invited.
• Jaymore was surprised by the invitation but agreed to attend since he had nothing else planned. "Sure, I'll be there tonight!"
• After confirming, Jaymore ended the call.
• As night fell, Jaymore hailed a cab and headed straight to the Redwood Club, the party venue.
• The Redwood Club was a prestigious private club in Walstino. At the entrance, luxury cars lined up, even the most modest ones worth millions. However, Jaymore didn't pay them much mind as he strolled in.
• Inside, the opulent interior was lit up by dazzling lights. The attendees were prominent figures in Walstino and gathered to pay their respects to the prestigious Hopkin Family hosting the party.
• Thus, Malinda was nowhere to be seen since the party had yet to start.
• A buffet had been set up in the hall, and Jaymore's stomach rumbled in hunger. He hadn't eaten anything since leaving Moore Residence and couldn't resist it any longer. He headed over and began to eat heartily.

• Mid-meal, Jaymore was interrupted by a familiar voice. He looked up to find Chelsea, his recently divorced wife, standing before him. She regarded him disdainfully and quipped, "Jaymore, this is a private club. How did you manage to get in?"
• Jaymore responded calmly, "If you're here, why can't I be?"
• "You..." Chelsea's anger flared at Jaymore's retort. Before she could respond, a couple of people approached. Among them were Kelsey and Maddy, recognizable faces to Jaymore.
• Maddy sneered at Jaymore, "So, I heard you and Chelsea called it quits, and now you're here, stuffing your face. How pathetic. Looks like Chelsea made the right call in divorcing you."
• Jaymore glanced at Maddy and brushed off her comment. He had no interest in sharp-tongued, unkind women like Maddy.
• At that moment, a charming young man walked towards them.
• "Chelsea, fancy meeting you here! I heard about your divorce, so I've come to propose to you." the man declared, dropping to one knee with a thud as he presented a dazzling 24K diamond ring.
• This man was Jahmiah Gilmore, the eldest son of the Gilmore Family in Walstino. He'd been pursuing Chelsea for some time, and upon hearing of her divorce, he'd hurried to propose.
• Chelsea seemed hesitant in response to Jahmiah's proposal.
• Meanwhile, Jaymore, who had just signed the divorce settlement agreement with her, simmered with anger at the sight.
• He approached and coldly stated, "Sorry to break it to you, but Chelsea and I haven't settled our divorce. So technically, we're still married."
• Although Jaymore and Chelsea had signed the divorce settlement agreement, they had not yet obtained the official certificate. This meant that Chelsea was still legally Jaymore's wife. How could he tolerate another man proposing to her?
• Displeased by the interruption, Jahmiah demanded, "Who are you?"
• Maddy chimed in, "Jahmiah, don't you know? This is Chelsea's ex-husband, Jaymore Reed."
• "What? You're Chelsea's ex?" Jahmiah was taken aback, eyeing Jaymore in surprise.
• Jaymore confirmed with a nod, "Yep, that's me, Chelsea's ex-husband."
