Chapter 4 The Needles of Abaddon

  • "Are you saying that he's the wanderer that you mentioned?"
  • This time, it was Tario's turn to be surprised. The news of the Belle of Walstino marrying a wanderer had caused quite a stir in the community back then.
  • It was also that incident that led to Chelsea becoming the subject of ridicule throughout Walstino.
  • Tario never imagined that the man everyone referred to as a worthless son-in-law would be the formidable martial artist standing before him.
  • Seeing the surprised expressions on their faces, Jaymore gave them a wry smile.
  • He clearly hadn't expected that his reputation was so well known throughout Walstino.
  • Therefore, he didn't deny it and replied, "Yes, I am Jaymore Reed, the live-in son-in-law of the Moore Family in Walstino."
  • "I never would have guessed it. Who would have guessed that you're the Moore Family's live-in son-in-law? With someone of your caliber as their son-in-law, the Moore Family indeed has a promising future."
  • Tario couldn't help but sigh after saying that.
  • With Jaymore's impressive martial arts skills, having him as a son-in-law boded well for the Moore Family's future.
  • However, Jaymore felt even more helpless after hearing that.
  • With how his in-laws regarded him, whether he could remain their son-in-law was uncertain.
  • "Cough! Cough! Cough…"
  • Suddenly, Tario began coughing violently.
  • Phew!
  • Eventually, he started choking up blood.
  • Malinda hurriedly asked, "Grandpa, are you feeling unwell?"
  • While waving his hand in denial, Tario replied, "I'm fine."
  • Tears began welling up in Malinda's eyes as she cried out, "Grandpa, you're coughing up blood. How is that fine? The doctor mentioned that with your condition, you wouldn't be able to live past three months if we couldn't find a miracle doctor to treat you."
  • "It seems like you have lung cancer," Jaymore suddenly interjected.
  • "How did you know that?"
  • Tario and Malinda looked up, their faces filled with shock.
  • As Jaymore mentioned, Tario was in the late stages of lung cancer. The doctor said he only had three months to leave.
  • But Jaymore immediately diagnosed Tario with just a glance.
  • Surprised by what had just conspired, Tario asked, "Do you know medicine?"
  • Jaymore nodded and replied, "Yes, I do possess some medical expertise. If you're willing, you can let me take a look at your condition."
  • The Celestial Dragon Technique was not only a cultivation manual but a medicine manual as well. On it was a medical technique called The Needles of Abaddon, which claimed to be able to revive the dead.
  • During his time on the battlefield, Jaymore saved numerous Estren heroes with this technique.
  • "Sure. Please take a look at my condition."
  • At this stage, Tario was open to any possibility. His doctor deemed his condition to be terminal, as modern medical treatments had proved ineffective. Therefore, he had no hope that Jaymore might be able to cure him.
  • Malinda stated, "Mr. Reed, if you can save my grandpa, our family can grant you any wish you have."
  • After reading Tario's pulse, Jaymore was silent for a moment before stating, "While modern medicine claims that late-stage lung cancer is fatal, you are very fortunate to have encountered me."
  • "What? Are you able to cure me?"
  • Excitement filled Tario upon hearing Jaymore's words.
  • After a brief pause, Jaymore assured him, "Although I can treat your condition, it's quite complex. I have to make some preparations. After three days, I can come over to treat you. Is that workable for you?"
  • Tario eagerly nodded. "Absolutely, thank you, Mr. Reed."
  • With that said, Tario handed Jaymore his business card. "Mr. Reed, feel free to call me when you're ready. Also, if you happen to face any difficulties in Walstino, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I still hold some sway in that region."
  • Jaymore accepted the business card with a nod and replied, "Sure."
  • Actually, based on their conversation alone, Jaymore could conclude that Tario was no ordinary person.
