Chapter 2 The Celestial Dragon Technique

  • Laced with envy, Raya gazed at Cloudcairn Mountain, remarking, "Cloudcairn Mountain is known as the top villa area in Walstino. Legend has it that those living there would be surrounded by a dense layer of clouds when they open the door every morning, hence the name. If I could have the chance to stay there, I would die content."
  • Hearing that, Jaymore chuckled and replied, "Mom, if you like that place, I can buy you a villa there—"
  • Before he could finish, Raya scoffed and interjected, "Jaymore, who do you think you are? You, a wastrel, are claiming to be able to buy a villa on Cloudcairn Mountain? Do you know that a villa there costs several million? With your current status, you would never be able to afford it."
  • Meanwhile, Chelsea furrowed her brows.
  • Each villa on Cloudcairn Mountain indeed commanded a hefty price tag.
  • Chelsea knew Jaymore best.
  • When they got married, Jaymore was just a destitute drifter.
  • Even after five years in the military, he still hadn't achieved anything. Can someone like that afford to buy a villa?
  • "Gosh! It seems like the five years away from home have led him to pick up a penchant for boasting."
  • Chelsea felt a twinge of disappointment. After all, she had hoped that Jaymore would have made some slight changes after five years. But to her surprise, the man not only failed to achieve anything but had also developed a habit of boasting.
  • Even though Jaymore could see Raya's lack of faith in him, he remained silent and smiled.
  • To him, being Estren's God of War, he had hundreds of billions of assets at his disposal, so a villa worth millions was nothing to him.
  • Before long, the car pulled up in front of Chelsea's residence—Tropocrest Heights, an upscale residential area in Walstino.
  • Each residence was priced at nearly a million and resided only with the elites of Walstino.
  • The house Chelsea owned had three bedrooms, one living room, and was equipped with all the necessary furnishings.
  • Though not a lavish mansion, it was considered respectable in Walstino.
  • Upon entering, Jaymore spotted a middle-aged man seated on the living room couch.
  • The man was, of course, Chelsea's father and his father-in-law, Zane Moore.
  • "Dad!" Jaymore greeted the man as he approached him.
  • When Zane heard that, he glanced up and scowled at Jaymore.
  • "You left for the border five years ago. After all that time, did you at least attain the rank of squad leader or commander?"
  • "No, Dad. I'm now a retired soldier."
  • "A retired soldier!"
  • After receiving that answer, Zane frowned and remarked, "So you accomplished nothing and came back with nothing?"
  • With a firm nod, Jaymore affirmed to him, "That's correct!"
  • Prior to his return, Jaymore had already relinquished his title as Estren's God of War, which meant he was now an ordinary civilian.
  • Disappointed, Zane snorted. "Jaymore, you aren't a suitable partner for Chelsea. Three days later, you two will start the divorce process."
  • Upon hearing that, Jaymore forced a wry smile.
  • It came as an utter surprise that, after five years of military service, he would return home and be faced with his wife divorcing him.
  • Not knowing how to respond, he turned to Chelsea.
  • At that moment, Chelsea had an indifferent expression and said nothing.
  • Noticing her attitude, Jaymore could only sigh. Returning here might have been a mistake.
  • Late into the night, atop Cloudcairn Mountain.
  • Instead of retiring to his room, Jaymore sat cross-legged on the peak of the mountain.
  • Several years ago, when Jaymore served as a border soldier, he had a near-fatal fall during a battle.
  • Fortunately, he wasn't met with death but stumbled upon a cavern.
  • Within it, he discovered a cultivation technique—the Celestial Dragon Technique.
  • The technique's introduction explained that cultivation was divided into four stages, which were the Qi Refining Stage, Foundation Building Stage, Golden Core Stage, and Nascent Soul Stage.
  • Jaymore spent almost an entire night on the peak of Cloudcairn Mountain.
  • When the sun rose the following morning, purple clouds floated over from the east.
  • Jaymore parted his lips and swallowed the purple clouds.
  • This was why he had chosen Cloudcairn Mountain as the place he cultivated, so that it was easier for him to swallow the purple clouds.
