Chapter 29
- Lola's POV
- It was very early morning the next day. Still dawn, and as usual, the alarm blared in my head, cutting my sleep, which seemed to be for a few minutes. It was like I had just gone to bed and the next minute it was morning. Every part of me wanted to sleep back in the bed for a few more hours, but I had no choice. The world is against me here in this pack.
- I sat up and sniffed my tears, recalling that it was another day to go to school. Yesterday was a day I wished I never had. I won't wish such a day, even for an enemy. Each time I was made to sit on the ground, each time the students laughed and jeered at me, especially those I thought were my friends. It always strikes me so painfully.
