• The next morning, Harold watched Jessy sleep, her body wrapped in a duvet. He stood up and walked outside. "Your mother called yesterday, but hmm... you were busy," Jay's voice sounded from behind. Harold had even forgotten he was around.
• "We're leaving for Vegas today, Jay," he uttered, ignoring the sarcastic comment. Nervously taking his seat, Jay knew something was bothering him, and it was definitely about Annie, but Harold would never admit how troubled he was by her thoughts.
• "Okay, but will you talk to your mother first?" Jay asked, staring from the phone in his hands to Harold's sad, broken face.
