Chapter 4 Beast
- Regina
- "Thank you for the food," Richard said, standing up from his seat. "You were right. Sam cooks the best chicken."
- "Told you...," I replied, with a big smile on my face. I like it when others praise Sam. "But why didn't Sam come for dinner?" I turned my head, looking all the way to his office.
- "He might be busy," Richard said with a smile. "But thanks to him, I get to enjoy such beautiful company and have such delicious food."
- "Well, thank you." I was surprised by his words. No one has ever praised me so beautifully before. "I enjoyed your company too."
- My words made Richard smile. "I hope… I could spend more time with you, but I have to leave."
- "Okay, but I would come again." I don’t know why I asked something like that, but honestly, I kind of enjoyed being close to him, talking to him, and most probably seeing a smile with his eyes staring at me.
- I walked, standing only a mere inch away from her. "I will very soon. But to take this..." he handed me a card with his phone number on it. "Talk to me whenever your heart desires, day or night."
- "Day or night," I mumbled, staring at the card in my hand. "So are we friends now?" I ask.
- Richard smiled, with his hands caressing my left cheek. "If you want, I can be anything for you."
- I walked backward, creating some distance between us. I don’t like how his closeness and his touch affect my body, making my heart throb inside my chest faster than I wanted it to. "I take this, thank you."
- "I should leave now, then." I nodded at his words. "And tell Sam to burn the list; I don’t need anyone."
- "What list?" I questioned, but Richard only smiled at my words before walking out of the house. "What list is he talking about?" I mumbled to myself as I made my way toward Sam’s office.
- "Sam...." I called, opening the door of his office. I only see him busy with random clutter all over his desk and his hands working on the keyboard, typing something.
- "What do you want, Regina?" He says, without looking at me, that all his focus is on the files and his computer. "I'm busy, as you can see...."
- "I can see that..." I mumbled, walking close to his desk. "Are you working on the list?" I asked, following Richard’s words.
- My words made Sam look up from his files at me. "How do you know about it?"
- "Richard said so," I replied.
- "Richard…..who?" Sam questions.
- "The guy who was sitting on your chair, Richard." how weird he let Richard inside his house, in his office, making him sit on his chair without knowing his name.
- "Regina, how do you know that his name is Richard?" Sam asks, standing up from the seat and walking to me.
- "He said so himself," I replied. What's so weird about knowing the name of the person visiting my house?
- Sam looked all concerned at my words. He put his hands on my shoulder, diverting all his attention to me. "You are okay... Have you been hurt anywhere?"
- "Sam, why are you asking all these questions?"
- "Because you were with the wolf, everyone is scared." Sam sighs. "You don’t have any idea how dangerous he is."
- What the hell is Sam saying? I didn’t feel any danger around Richard if I felt something that safe. Something that I rarely feel around strangers.
- "And why is everyone scared of him?" I ask. "Do you know the reason?"
- Sam shook his head, with his hand caressing my head. "Let's not talk about it now. Just stay away in the future."
- I nodded my head. Even though I have a hard time trusting Sam’s words, Richard can’t be a bad person, but then why would Sam lie to me?
- "You're hungry?" I asked about changing the topic.
- "Very, but I have finished the list." He replied, turning his head and looking at his desk.
- The list is yes... Sam, I forgot to mention, but Richard also told you to burn the list."
- "What…..?" Sam groaned loudly in frustration. "Fucking bastard."
- I can’t help but smile at his reaction, even though I feel bad for his hard work going in vain. "Do you want me to bring the lighter?"
- Sam looked angry at first but then started laughing along with me. "Let's finish dinner. Then we will burn the list together."
- "Promise..." I pulled my pinky out in front of him.
- "Promise…. Now feed me something before I die." Sam says he is walking out of his office.
- "Then let's feed the beast some food before he dies." I joked about following him.
- "Beast….huh."
- I nodded my head. "Or better, Beast Alpha."
