Chapter 18 We Are Attacked

• "Peter, what exactly happened while I was unconscious?" Peter hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath before starting to explain. "Well, things started the night when you were gone and we couldn't find you, and we were all worried sick. We searched everywhere and called everyone we knew, but there was no trace of you."
• "But as we were finding you, we discovered the bodies of many wolves that had somehow disappeared from their pack but are now dead." Peter continued to recount the events with a heavy sigh. "It was a gruesome sight, and we couldn't understand how it happened. Sam was worried sick; he thought you were dead too. He kept blaming himself for not being able to protect you," Peter added, his voice filled with remorse. "We tried to piece together what had happened, but there were no answers. It was like a nightmare that we couldn't wake up from."
