Chapter 55

• “I appreciate everyone who has taken the time out of their busy schedules to attend our 10th graduation ceremony. It gives me great pleasure…” Mr. Jorge, ever the simp went on and on about what achievements patrons of the school have done, he talked about Mr. Maximilian’s efforts in contributing to the welfare of the staff and students, he spoke highly of the graduating students, you know, all that good stuff we already knew. The majority of the students weren’t even listening to his speech but the parents were because that’s what you do when you grow up, get married, and have kids, you listen to speeches because they become interesting to you in your old age.
• After praising Mr. Maximilian to the skies he invited the graduating students to the podium for the presentation of their certificates. Looking at them walk orderly and with an aura of maturity around them, it was hard to tell that these year 3 seniors were the same who once threw parties behind their the closed doors of the Seniors’ quarters. They walked with pride and received their certificates presented by first, Mr. Maximilian himself, then my dad presented a few and one other parent who I suppose Mr. Jorge is trying to get to be a new sponsor.
• Then it was time for the Head boy/ Head girl speech. Martin took the podium first and appreciated the parents present, his fellow graduating students and the rest of Edwin and Co. His speech was mostly about his experience starting as a junior here, growing up around the walls of Edwin and Co. making new friends and new memories then he advised the rest of us remaining to be good and all that. Martin is such a good boy. After his speech Psycho-Annabelle, the outgoing Head girl of Edwin and Co took her place in front of the mic and started her speech.
