Chapter 29

• “Is everything alright?”
• It was Charlie. I was back in class and she was sitting beside me, casting glances from time to time. I could tell that she was worried about my frown since I had been smiling just 1 hour ago. Since I returned from my very pleasant meeting with Christian my victory turned a little sour in my mouth. I couldn’t get over his hypocrisy and how he wanted it to seem like it was okay for me to be bullied and not okay for me to have some fun of my own.
• “I’m fine,” I replied Charlie. She wasn’t convinced but she nodded anyway. She looked past me to the last row in the classroom and back at me.
