• " Ugh, you're no fun! " Jenny whined.
• " You didn't expect me to be, did you? " Carla said, quickly thinking of a comeback. Liam shook his head and smiled. He watched her, thinking she was smart to be able to think of a sharp, savage replies to whatever insults her friend was hauling at her. Carla rolled her eyes, at him this and gestured for him to keep his mouth shut. He laughed at that and motioned her to go on with the conversation she was having with her friend.
