Chapter 22 Don't provoke me

• "You up", She only threw a glance in my way. "We were assigned to clean the lake house for the next few days, it's a few hours from here so you have the all room to yourself", She continued as she made her way to the door. "Take me with you", l sat up on the bed instantly. "Yeah right but am not the one who made those decisions",She responded.
• "Please", l got up. "Hey you wanna plead with someone, try Miss Scarlett",she grabbed the doorknob. " I can't take you myself", She took the door and l closed it behind her. With her gone , I wore the slave shirt then walked out of the room. I made my way to the stables. For some reason not many people came out here.
• Even the slaves's duties were centered towards the main house and gardens. I walked quickly and got inside the back. I got inside the lady empty stall to my right and sat down on the hay. For the first time l was scared , l was scared of those human slaves. I felt defeated. One of them told me that it wasn't over and I didn't want to think of what was going to happen next.
