Chapter 6 On The Private Jet
- As she stormed out, my mind raced. I knew she was right on one point, if the Blacks had agreed to give me a job then I would have to work for my own money, and in a few months, I would have earned enough to be independent.
- Rushing up I put on my hoodie and my jeans. And rushed to join my mother in the SUV parking right in front of our yard.
- I settled into the car beside my mum, judging by her expression I could tell she was going to ignore me.
- I leaned back in my seat, gazing out of the window. The scenery passed in a blur, and when I became bored I settled back, relaxing on the back of the chair and closing my eyes, trying to remember when everything in my life seemed so normal and not rushed.
- After what seemed like only a few moments, the car came to a stop. I sat up, expecting to see the familiar facade of the hotel, but the surroundings were different. No, it wasn't a hotel. The noise around me indicated we were at an airport and so did the large planes that came into my line of sight. Confusion crept over me.
- My mother swiftly exited the car without a word, and I followed, trying to keep pace with her fast footsteps.
- Catching up, I questioned, "Mum, why are we here?"
- She scoffed, dismissing my question, "I thought I told you we were going to New York." She replied to me while looking straight ahead.
- “What! I can’t leave yet, I thought you were going to give me a little time to pack up my stuff and say bye to my friends." I replied, “I couldn’t just leave without saying goodbye to Freya and I had some valuables back at home.”
- “Stop all this nonsense, whatever you had you will get double once we land." she said, dismissing me before I could respond to her.
- I spotted a private jet which I assumed would take us to New York.
- As we approached , I caught a glimpse of Damien engaged in conversation with a man in a sleek suit. He looked remarkably handsome, his presence commanding attention.
- Looking at him brought back memories of that forbidden night we had. When our eyes met, he smirked, and I quickly averted my gaze. I knew I had to stop whatever I was feeling to avoid a complicated situation.
- As I shifted my focus, I realized my mother was in the arms of her newly wedded husband. Their embrace seemed genuine, they leaned into each other as they kissed.
- I looked away, feeling like an outsider.
- Once they were done, my mother whispered something into Brian’s ear and I could see him look at me.
- Brian approached, extending a friendly hand. "I am Brian. It's good to meet you officially." he said with a warm smile.
- I never got to officially meet Brian, my mother had announced to me a week ago that she would be getting married and it was my first time meeting him, I could tell he was indeed a nice man but how he had fallen for someone like my mother will still be a mystery to me.
- I could see my mother glare at me as if daring me to mess up, I put on my forced smile as I shook hands with Brian.
- “It’s nice to meet you too Mr Brian." I responded.
- “Ahh don’t do that, feel free to call me dad." He said with a gentle smile but I froze at his words.
- The memory of calling someone dad echoed in my brain. I could remember always staying up at night waiting for my father to come home, when he did he would come with candy. In many nights when my mother was out my father would stay up with me and we will have a tea party.
- Trying to maintain composure, I smiled at Brian. I could tell he didn’t know anything about my mother’s love life if he did, maybe that would change his mind.
- “Now that’s settled, join me inside." he said as he held my hands and made his way up the stairs of the jet. I could see my mother’s silent gaze warning me to behave as I followed Brian into the luxurious plane.
- Soon I was seated on a plush couch, I observed Damien and my mother entering the jet.
- Damien took a seat opposite me and greeted, "Hi, sister." Accompanied by a mischievous smirk.
- His handsome face did a thing to me as I could feel memories flash again in my head.
- His smirk widened and I knew he knew what he's doing. I mustered a polite response, "Hi."
- “Oh don’t mind her, once she gets to know you she will open up the more.” my mother opted in as she let out a laugh, “She is just shy."
- “Oh I can’t wait to get to know her.” he replied as his smirk grew, “I can tell she can be so wild when she wants to."
- I knew Damian was teasing me with what he had done a few days ago. But his handsome face was right in front of me. His arms, looking especially strong in his suit, and his long legs with firm muscles... I began to imagine them without a stitch of clothing, making my breath quicken. I could feel myself getting wet down there again.
- “Let the poor girl breathe, Damien." Brian opts in as he picks a drink from the plane attendant.
- Without thinking I turned to the flight attendant and asked. “Can you show me the way to the bathroom please?"
- “This way." she replied gently and smiled.
- Without sparing him a glance, I stood up and followed the flight attendant. She soon showed me a bathroom that was attached to a room. I couldn't even look around to admire the beauty of how very modern and exquisite the bathroom was because I needed to find release, and quickly!
- I pushed my way in hurriedly like I was crazy and I couldn't even think straight anymore.
