Chapter 36
- Thanksgiving break was a godsend.
- Hayleigh returned home for the holidays and was able to take a break from all the craziness. For the first time in a long time, she was able to sleep in everyday, eat her mother’s delicious pumpkin pie, and read something other than schoolbooks on her favorite spot by her bedroom window. She raked the autumn leaves and went out for daily walks with Rusty, the family’s ten-year old Golden Retriever. It was a welcome reprieve not having to worry about schoolwork, pranksters, and the likes of Rowen and Keiran.
- Hayleigh had not wished to tell her parents about the break-in at her dorm, but the school had unfortunately informed her parents over the phone. Hayleigh dismissed it as nothing more than a prank, and with the school investigation bearing no fruit, it was the best explanation all of them could come up with. Luckily, the school failed to mention about the man who had chased her down, and she would let it stay that way.
