- She’d just passed him when he said those words. It took nearly all of her strength just to eye him with a calm, collected gaze.
- “There’s nothing to talk about, Professor,” she said, hoping her voice wouldn’t break in the middle of her words. “I had a lapse in judgment yesterday. I’m not participating in your game.”
