Chapter 22
- He’d been too late.
- It had taken him less than five minutes running across campus to reach Hayleigh’s dorm. He ran into her roommate Tara, who said Hayleigh had packed her bags in a hurry for a spur-of-the-moment trip home. Tara looked equally confused and stunned at the sight of him, which meant she knew nothing.
- All his calls went to voicemail. For a moment, panic had seized him. Sadie could’ve regained consciousness and done something to Hayleigh, and despite Sean’s rage for having been bothered for the third time that evening, Rowen forced him to track Hayleigh’s phone. Only until the GPS indicated that she was already on a train heading upstate did he finally give up.
