Chapter 45 Run Out

• Vincent and I had been driving for days, keeping to the small towns so that we’d remain below the radar. The people who wanted us dead were still out there and were on our tail. We’d lost them for now, but for how long? They’d caught up with us in the coastal town of Punta Sal, north of Mancora.
• Fortunately, we’d paid a bellboy at the hotel to get us disguises so we could sneak out undetected. We’d been bribing our way out of our skirmishes and were on our way to meet Matteo, who we’d been communicating with using public phones, in Piura, where we would charter a plane to Cuba. Vincent had family there -his mother’s side- who ruled the territory and would be able to get us back to America safely.
