Chapter 5 Uncovering The Real Culprit

  • Silas said, “Zinnia's family tried everything to make her break up with you, but she remained unmoved.”
  • At this point, something occurred to him and he quickly added, “Oh right, Torin, Zinnia told me that you were having a tough time in prison. We were really worried, but Zinnia mentioned she knows someone named Jonah Dawson who might have a way to get you out early. Did he help you get out this time?”
  • Torin narrowed his eyes at the name. He instantly knew that there were things going on that he wasn't aware of!
  • He said, “Silas, my release has nothing to do with him.”
  • At that moment, the sound of Tyga's weeping rang out from the courtyard. It seemed he had been incessantly banging his head, and in a short span of time, he was already suffering from a sore back and waist and feeling dizzy and disoriented. Blood had even started to seep from his forehead due to the constant banging.
  • As he cried, he pleaded, “Torin, I was wrong. Please, forgive me. I truly messed up. I'm less than human. I'm a beast! I'm worthless!”
  • Torin arrived in the courtyard, his voice icy cold as he stated, “Tyga, if you don't die today, the anger in my heart won't subside! Keep going. Let your family come to collect your corpse!”
  • At that moment, Tyga's father, the village chief Dante Wycliffe, stormed in with a group of people. Seeing his son bowing to Torin, he was both upset and angry. He stepped forward and kicked Tyga, scolding, “You good-for-nothing, who told you to bow to him?”
  • Oddly enough, after Tyga was knocked down, he quickly got back up and continued to kneel and bow before Torin, weeping as he did so. “Dad, I can't control myself! I feel like I'm dying, my head hurts so much!”
  • Dante was taken aback. In his nearly sixty years of life, he had never encountered such a bizarre situation. He fell silent for a moment, then deeply bowed toward Torin. “Torin, I know Tyga is at fault. Considering our shared village ties, please spare him.”
  • With a stoic expression, Torin asked bluntly, “Where were you when Tyga, that scoundrel, was bullying my brother? And where were you when he dangled my niece in mid-air?”
  • With gritted teeth, Dante said, “Torin, we're all from the same village, so don't take things too far. I may not know what tactics you used, but my family isn't one to shy away from trouble...”
  • Seeing his stubbornness, Torin said, “Is that so? Then you might as well join in!”
  • Several silver needles silently pierced into Dante's acupoints before he also began to bang his head, making a thumping sound.
  • The onlookers reacted as if they had seen a ghost. One by one, they felt a chill run down their spines, their scalps tingling with unease. In no time at all, they had all left, too afraid to remain in the courtyard.
  • Fear filled Dante's eyes as he pleaded while simultaneously bowing his head. “Torin, let's talk this through. We were wrong. We apologize to you...”
  • Yet, Torin paid no heed, returning to the room once again. He began to administer a massage for Silas, all the while assessing the extent of his injuries.
  • Silas was gravely injured, with his spinal cord severed at the lumbar region. This was a medical conundrum worldwide, with virtually no hope for a cure.
  • However, Torin's medical skills were far superior to contemporary medicine, so treating such injuries was not a challenge for him. The only difficulty was that the various medicines required for the treatment were quite hard to concoct.
  • After Torin gave Silas a full body massage three times over, Silas felt a warmth spread throughout his body. It felt very pleasant, and he couldn't help but say, “Torin, who taught you this massage technique? You're really good at it.”
  • Torin chuckled. “Silas, from now on, I'll give you a massage every day.”
  • Silas said, “Torin, Tyga kicked Yvette earlier. Quickly check on her to make sure she's not hurt.”
  • Yvette obediently sat off to the side, her small hand still resting on her stomach.
  • Torin cradled her in his arms and examined her carefully. Thankfully, there was nothing seriously wrong. With a few presses, Yvette's pain subsided. All she could feel was a warm current coursing through her body, bringing with it a sense of utmost comfort.
  • She laughed, saying, “You're amazing, Uncle Torin. Just like that, my pain is gone.”
  • Torin patted her head. “Yvette, you're such a good girl.”
  • Outside the door, Tyga's eyes had rolled back, foam spilling from his mouth. Yet, he continued to bow his head incessantly. This scene terrified the others, leaving their faces ashen.
  • Dante was already in tears. “Torin, Silas, please, I beg you, let us go. We realize our mistake!”
  • Torin coldly stated, “Keep going until it kills you!”
  • Dante was chilled to the bone. Suddenly, he gritted his teeth and blurted out, “I have a secret to tell you. The construction site accident was deliberately orchestrated by someone else!”
  • Torin's heart jolted at the words. He smacked Dante, who immediately stopped banging his head. His eyes seemed to glow with a divine light as he questioned slowly, “You know who was behind it?”
  • Before he was imprisoned, he had already discovered that the accident was no accident at all. Unfortunately, he didn't get a chance to investigate further before he was incarcerated and charged with intentional assault.
  • Dante nodded vigorously. “Yes, I do.”
  • “Speak!” Torin demanded through gritted teeth, his eyes seeming to spit fire.
  • The accident had claimed the lives of his parents and sister-in-law while leaving his brother paralyzed in bed. It had decimated his family, leaving him filled with a rage so intense that not even all the waters of the four seas could extinguish it.
  • Dante said, “It was a man named Jonah Dawson. On the day of the accident, I saw him leading a group of people to your construction site. Not ten minutes later, there was trouble at your site. Later, when I went to inspect the site, I found that someone had used strong acid to corrode the steel pipes supporting the main structure of the project! Once the pipes broke, the site collapsed, killing your family members.”
  • “Ah!”
  • Torin roared furiously toward the sky, his voice piercing through the heavens. The intensity shook Dante so violently that it felt as though his eardrums might rupture, prompting him to quickly cover his ears. The others were even more affected, collapsing onto the ground, their faces drained of color.
  • Dante was filled with terror. Had that sound really come from a human? Torin was just too terrifying!
  • “Jonah Dawson, I, Torin Yelton, will obliterate your entire family, leaving you in a state where you'll wish for death but can't achieve it!” These words were spoken by Torin in an extremely soft voice, as if he were murmuring to himself.
  • Dante, kneeling on the ground, cautiously uttered, “Torin, since I've told you, could you let us go?”
  • Torin stated icily, “Have Tyga kneel at my doorstep for three days and three nights! Moreover, he injured my niece and insulted my elder brother, so I demand compensation!”
  • Dante hastily said, “I'll compensate you! I definitely will. I have hundreds of thousands in cash at home. I'll give it all to you!”
  • After Torin delivered a swift kick, Tyga stopped bowing immediately. Instead, he collapsed onto the ground, his body convulsing.
  • Even so, Dante didn't dare to take Tyga to the hospital. Instead, he supported his son to kneel at the entrance of the Yelton residence. At the same time, he had his family bring three hundred thousand in cash.
  • After receiving the money, Torin chased them out of the courtyard and shut the large gate.
  • Silas was utterly shocked. He asked, “Torin, do you really know magic?”
  • Torin gave a smile and replied, “Silas, it's not magic. What I know are medical techniques.”
