Chapter 45 Caught

• At the entrance to the royal concubine’s chambers, the assassins were guarding each other’s back while the person at the middle was strangling Lady Hazel with one arm while his other hand held a dagger pointing at the lady’s face.
• Lady Hazel was obviously terrified because that was the very first time she faced such danger ever since entering the palace. Not only was she surprised by the sudden turn of events but she was also scared of what would happen next. Even though she was grateful for the king that he came in person to save him, she felt like a burden who cannot protect herself and simply awaited to be saved. Despite her mind telling her to fight back, her body just negated her mind as it remained frozen in fear.
• From Emery’s perspective, it seemed like the king was proposing a deal with the assassins since he dropped his sword right in front of them. His back was all she could see but she already guessed that he was probably as mad as hell since, this time, his woman was the one in danger.
