Chapter 7 Haunted By The Past Once More
- Adamantem’s POV
- I
- I heard those begging words from a very familiar voice. She kept on begging as my tears flowed again like rivulets.
- “Ms. Marta,” I murmured the name of the owner of the voice begging for her dear life. I closed my eyes and prayed to spare Ms. Marta’s life. She is the only one who loves me and cares for me. As my eyes were closed, I covered my ears with my hands, not wanting to hear more of her cries and pleading . My mind, flew from the past, remembering how Ms. Marta lifted my spirit, saved me and picked me up whenever I was down and about to give up. And, once again, my mind has been haunted by the past.
- I was six years old and Ms. Marta caught me that time, visiting my mother down in this dark underground room.
- “Adamantem, what are you doing here? Come, your father should not see you here,” she said with worries in her voice. She took my hand and gently pulled me away from the door.
- I gazed at Ms. Marta crying but with anger. “Ms. Marta, why did you imprison my Mom here? My Alpha father said she is dead. Why are you hiding my Mom from my father?”
- Ms. Marta kneeled in front of me and gently cupped my face, “You will not yet understand everything Adamantem, but one thing I wanted you to understand, I will not harm your mother like this wilfully. It was your Alpha Father’s order that your mother should be kept here.”
- “Why, Ms. Marta? Why is my Alpha Father so cruel to us?” I sobbed again but in my heart, my hatred for my father, grew more.
- Ms. Marta could not explain to me that time, she just hugged me. “Let’s go Adamantem while no one notice you here yet. Luna Gracie, I am sorry that aside from giving you food, I could not do anything further to help you,” she said softly toward my mother inside the small room. Her voice was cracked and I know she wanted to cry to.
- “Ms. Marta, let us get Mother out of here please.” I pleaded but Ms. Marta shook her head. She put her hands on my shoulder and said in a whispering tone.
- “Listen Adamantem, when you grow up, we will help your Mother get out of here. Today, we cannot just do that without being killed or executed in the end.”
- At that point my Mother, suddenly interrupted me and Ms. Marta. “My daughter, listen to Marta. Go now and be good to your father. Don’t let him find any reason to hurt you. I will be fine here.”
- “But you are not fine here, Mom,” I insisted but Mom, once again told me to go now, so with Ms. Marta.
- I never really wanted to leave my Mother that moment, but when Ms. Marta and my Mother encouraged me to leave and prepare in the future, instead to help my mother escape, I wiped my tears and followed them in the end.
- Ms. Marta guided me out of the dark underground room and made sure that no one saw us as we entered the palace kitchen. She reiterated to me that I should not tell anyone what I learned about my Mother, and I just nodded at her.
- A few days passed I could not contain myself, I sneaked again during midnight and visited my Mother down in the underground’s secret room. For three times, I was able to do that succesfully and I was somehow happy that I could talk to my Mother even for a short period of time.
- For the fourth time, I visited my mother again, one midnight. I sneaked and was able to reach her room’s door unnoticed. We chatted for a while until my mother told me to go back inside the palace kitchen.
- “Go now Adamantem and be careful. I love you, always remember that my child,” my mother said as we bade goodbye from each other.
- I walked slowly and was on my tip toe when I opened the slab door and got outside of the secret underground. Still on tip toe, I walked in the dimly lighted dining area, with intent to get out from there and return to my room.
- “So, you found out that your Mother is not dead after all!” a cold, hissing voice astonished me that I almost jumped to my feet.
- “Alpha Father,” I muttered in an exclaiming tone. Fears hit me and my knees started to shake.
- “You! good for nothing child, you are as hard headed as your mother, but worthless and should be tamed!” my Alpha Father made wide strides and reached my small arm. He pulled me and almost dragged me to my room. Once inside my room, he removed his brown belt and come near me with blazing eyes.
- “You deserve to be punished for not believing me that your Mother is dead!” He growled in anger as he moved up his hand, holding his belt and then whipped me hard.
- I screamed in pain as I felt the hard leather belt hit my back, then another one slapped my butt and then another whip landed on my back again. I was screaming in pain but my Alpha Father seemed to never care when he hit me more until I laid down on the floor almost dizzy in pain.
- “Alpha Father, I just wanted to see Mother. Why do you hate us this much? … What did mother do and what did I do that you hate us this much?” I asked stammering while I sobbed so hard out of the pain I was feeling.
- “Your mother do not deserve to be my mate, more so to become my Luna, but the Moon Goddess seemed to despise me that much that she fated me with a lowly, weak and not so beautiful omega like your mother. I deserve my dreamed Luna and not your mother. She made me a mocking object! Worst, instead of giving me a son, she gave birth to another worthless she-wolf like you, making me more the laughing stock of other Alphas!” my Alpha father shouted as he hit me again with his belt, giving me more screams because of pain.
- “Alpha father, please, please stop. It hurts so much,” I begged at him, with a mixed of tears and snots in my cheeks. I slouched on the floor crying hard.
- “Betray and disobey me again you filthy child and you will be punished more, and I will choke your mother to death! Put that in your empty little head!” he said fiercely as his finger pointed my head. He spatted at me before he finally left my small room.
- I cried more and in my young little mind, I cursed my Alpha Father. I promised to myself that I will never marry a man like him in the future.
