Chapter 8 Venting out
- Thief?
- Never would I have thought that Kelsey Katz would degrade me like that.
- I know that I, Reuben Tanaka am a scumbag. I worked as a bricklayer at a construction site, as a hired thug, and engaged in protection racketeering, and my history of dirty work goes on and on.
- I've even transgressed Chinese traditions by forsaking my own family name and marrying into my wife's family.
- But I have never stolen anything in my whole life.
- My grandfather, who raised me from young, had taught me to be a man. Even if I had to rob, to never steal from others as it would be embarrassing. Hence, I have never stolen anything before.
- It was also apparent to me that Kelsey Katz had always hated me and despised me, but never had it crossed my mind that Kelsey Katz would insult me in that way.
- My face instantly darkened as anger welled up in my chest.
- Stole your bag? Do you regard me as an idiot? Who would steal something and come all the way just to return it to you?
- Moreover, judging from the looks of things, Kelsey Katz and I obviously know each other.
- But next to Kelsey Katz, this guy named Larry Dundha and his two underlings apparently thought otherwise.
- They did not fully grasp the entire situation, but since Kelsey Katz has spoken up, they just went with it. Besides, so what if they just treated me as a thief?
- With malicious smiles plastered across their faces, the trio walked towards me.
- Larry Dundha interlocked his fingers and twisted them slightly to crack his knuckles. He stared tauntingly at me and said, "Yo dude, aren't you something else? At such a young age, instead of staying in school, you're out here stealing. Now you're even bold enough to steal from my girlfriend. I guess I'll do the honors of teaching you a valuable lesson today."
- He uttered as he walked over to face me. Without having any second thoughts, he raised his arm and was prepared to throw me a punch.
- It was apparent that this guy had been in a lot of fights before. His punches are quicker than I'd expected, aiming straight for my nose. If his fist were to actually land on my nose, having a nose fracture would be the least of my worries.
- The students around the vicinity who were witnessing the entire scenario had sympathetic looks on their faces.
- They felt really sorry for me to be targeted by these hooligans. It seemed like it's going to be my unlucky day as I might be seriously injured by the trio.
- However, no one had noticed that my vicious eyes had started to bore into their soul.
- The prejudice and humiliation of marrying into my wife's family, the despisal from Kelsey Katz; the amount of saliva that was spat at me, all of these injustices just allowed the resentment in me to grow
- So what if I'm a thug? So what if I'm a matrilocal husband? Even a matrilocal husband has his own dignity.
- I don't have the freaking balls to mess with Kelsey Katz and Thelma Katz, but that doesn't mean I don't have the guts to mess with little punks like you.
- I'll let you dumb-ass*s understand the huge difference between a school bully, a street gangster, and me, who has dealt with knives all the time.
- Pow!
- A sharp and loud sound rang out.
- Larry Dundha threw his fist at my nose, but before he could land a punch inches away from my nose, I caught hold of his fist with my bear hand.
- At that moment, it was as if time froze. We were as still as statues.
- Obviously, this situation was not anticipated by Larry Dundha. His sudden change in expression gave it away.
- I took a step forward in the next split second and locked my arm around his neck. In an attempt to gather my strength, I let out a loud yell at the top of my lungs. In a blink of an eye, Larry Dundha's body was lifted up by me. With tremendous force, I body-slammed him to the ground.
- Thud! The sound was dull, yet it clearly showed the force I have put into it.
- Larry Dundha gaped with astonishment, but not a word came out of his mouth. It was only until a few seconds later that he barely managed to let out a desperate cry.
- This scene gave everyone a startle. No one could have imagined that I'm such an aggressive guy, especially Kelsey Katz.
- I lifted my head and looked at Kelsey Katz with my bloodshot eyes. It definitely gave her a fright as she screamed in horror.
- Deep down, I wanted to teach this little brat a lesson, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. The fury surging through me could only be vented out on Larry Dundha. Hence, I proceeded to kick Larry Dundha in the stomach.
- Larry Dundha's body instinctively cowered and shriveled like a dried shrimp.
- "You motherf*cker, how dare you hit brother Larry, I'll beat you to death…" He scowled upon seeing his boss being beaten up. His look became menacing as he flung his fist towards me.
- "Beat my *ss then." I snapped back before turning towards him to feed him a knuckle sandwich. As my punches are way stronger than this piece of trash's, my fist landed with a heavy thud onto his mouth.
- Thwack! Larry's underling's mouth was immediately crooked to one side. He spat out a mouthful of blood along with a broken tooth in the mix.
- Is that blood-shedding?
- Every student that were at the scene had never seen such a ferocious fight before. Each one of them were horrified and panic-stricken, particularly the other one of Larry's underlings, who was so afraid that terror stole his words.
- However, I couldn't care less about the other underling. I rushed over to Larry Dundha and kicked him in the stomach repeatedly. Once, twice, thrice…
- I had lost count of how many times I had kicked him. Even until Larry Dundha began to spit out blood, I was yet to stop.
- At this point, Larry Dundha couldn't even whimper. His face was as pale as a ghost, and his pupils rolled back, showing only the whites of his eyes.
- I don't know where Kelsey Katz's courage came from, but upon looking at how pitiful and miserable Larry Dundha was, she managed to muster up her courage to dash towards me and grab hold of my arm.
- "Reuben Tanaka, you have gone out of your mind! Do you wish to beat him to death?" Kelsey Katz screeched.
- Out of my mind? Well, I certainly have lost my mind. A vortex of anger swirled within me. Even I myself couldn't control it.
- However, after many rounds of venting out, all the stress that was building up inside was finally relieved.
- Looking at Larry Dundha, who was still lying on the floor, I felt that I had vented quite enough. Thus, I spat on him and did not continue any further. But then I noticed that Kelsey Katz's tiny hand was still holding onto my wrist.
- I furrowed my eyebrows and forcefully yanked her hand away from me before throwing the bag at her.
- Mocking Kesey Katz's expression, I took out a handkerchief from my pocket, then wiped my wrist. "Don't touch me, you're dirty…"
- My voice was icy cold to the point it made Kelsey Katz's face freeze and stiffen. Her body, however, was shaking with fury. Color drained from her face as her gaze towards me was filled with resentment.
- Dirty?
- This might be the first time in Kelsey Katz's life that she was offended by someone.
- Unfortunately, I couldn't care less. So, I turned around and left.
- Who would have thought that returning a bag would bring me such troubles. Today is indeed an unlucky day.
- But I got to say the fight just now was freaking awesome. It made my body feel invigorating and more alive.
- I sprinted all the way back to the Katz's family villa.
- Since Thelma Katz, Tessa Katz, and Lauren Katz had gone to work, there wouldn't be anyone at home. Hence, I didn't give it much thought and headed straight into the house.
- I needed to hurry upstairs to clean Thelma Katz's stockings before anyone saw the stain.
- I was busy muttering on the inside and was completely unaware of my surroundings. When I rushed to the door, a figure just so happened to walk out of the room.
- Thud! We've bumped into each other, but strangely it was soft.
- It felt soft… like breasts.
