Chapter 10 I Will Let Her Kick My Head

  • "Oh my, it turns out that the ugly girl looks stunning with a clean face!"
  • Everyone was still in a state of shock.
  • "Tsk, so what, even if she looks decent now? She's still the disgrace of Class 20. Because of her, we've been mocked countless times."
  • "Exactly, it’s good that she’s about to be expelled. Spending even one more day with her disgusts me."
  • The mockery continued, filled with righteous indignation, and no one noticed the bell ringing.
  • The Irelish teacher, Alice Sharp, strode in and, seeing the chaotic Class 20, a hint of disgust flashed in her eyes as she angrily exclaimed, "Are you all deaf? Didn’t you hear the bell? You're the noisiest in this entire building!"
  • In the classes she taught, Class 20 was always at the bottom, and no teacher liked students with poor grades.
  • She slammed her books on the lectern and glanced at the last row by the wall. When she saw a stunning girl with a ponytail sitting there, she frowned.
  • She didn’t care who the girl was; she was probably a new transfer student. What concerned her was Zoey’s absence.
  • She sneered, pointing at two boys. "You two, clear out everything from Zoey's seat and throw it away."
  • Her face was full of glee at the prospect of Zoey being expelled. "The school's policy clearly states that students who are absent for seven days or more will be expelled! Zoey hasn’t shown up today, making it exactly seven days. She’s been expelled! Throw all her stuff out!"
  • The students in Class 20 looked at Alice in exasperation.
  • The person she was referring to was right there; she just hadn’t recognized her.
  • Zoey didn’t expect such a huge misunderstanding either. She stood up, her clear, expressive eyes staring impassively at Alice. "Miss Sharp, until a formal expulsion notice is issued, even teachers don’t have the right to throw out a student’s belongings."
  • "Who do you think you are to lecture me? You're just a piece of Class 20 trash."
  • Class 20 was the lowest-performing class in the grade, and Alice always entered their classroom already exasperated. Seeing someone dare to challenge her authority only darkened her mood further.
  • Hearing this, the students of Class 20 looked upset; no one liked being called trash.
  • "Miss Sharp, as a teacher, have you memorized the code of ethics for educators? No teacher should ever call their students trash."
  • Being publicly reprimanded by a student, Alice felt humiliated and became furious. "What does it matter to you if I have Zoey’s things thrown out?"
  • The cicadas chirped incessantly outside the window, and the hot, humid air was mixed with heat waves. Zoey's voice resonated clearly through the classroom. "Because I am Zoey."
  • She is Zoey! That's impossible!
  • Alice stared at the girl standing straight, her eyes wide with disbelief. After a long moment, she finally saw the faint resemblance to Zoey in her features.
  • She's still so detestable!
  • Alice's intense dislike for Zoey stemmed not only from her poor academic performance but also from a previous incident where Zoey had embarrassed her in front of the entire school.
  • She had always wanted to expel Zoey from the school.
  • Snapping out of her shock, Alice sneered, "Hmph, even if you showed up today, it doesn’t matter. You’re still getting expelled! You’ve already received three major demerits. According to school regulations, if you fail all your exams in two weeks, you’ll be expelled!"
  • "It’s not exam time yet. How do you know I won’t pass?"
  • At this, Alice laughed, and the students of Class 20 laughed as well, as if they had heard the funniest joke.
  • "Hahaha, she actually thinks she can pass."
  • "Look at her pathetic scores. If she passes, I'll let her kick my head like a ball!"
  • Even Alice laughed in exasperation, taunting, "Do you really think someone as hopeless as you can pass? Fine, if you pass, I’ll apologize to you in front of the whole class—no, the entire school! But for now, get out of my classroom! I won't tolerate trash like you here!"
  • Amid the relentless mockery, Zoey maintained an expressionless facade. She calmly retrieved a literature textbook and exited the classroom with poise.
