Chapter 11 I Will Teach You
- Within half a day, news of Zoey's bet with Alice had spread throughout the school.
- Everyone thought Zoey must have lost her mind.
- "Hilarious! Someone who scores single digits on every test actually has the audacity to claim she can pass?" one student sneered.
- Another scoffed, "That ugly girl must have had her head slammed in a door!"
- "Hey, she's not ugly anymore. She's the new school Bella! Even prettier than Yvette!"
- Yvette listened coldly as her classmates gossiped. Ever since being expelled by the Saldana Family, she had been living in a small apartment.
- She knew Zoey had become beautiful.
- Zoey was never truly unattractive, and even without makeup, she could easily outshine Yvette.
- Yvette had always been aware of Zoey's beauty, which is why she had forced her to look unattractive.
- "Yvette, how can Zoey compare to you? She looks like a sly vixen. Ha! And she actually bet Miss Sharp that she could pass all her exams. Where does she get such confidence? Yvette, you're the top student in our grade. How dare that wretch Zoey even think to compare herself with you?"
- The speaker was Freya Ingham, the Irelish class representative from Class 20, who always followed Yvette's lead.
- "Don't say that. Maybe Zoey really has changed…" Yvette feigned concern, but inwardly, she was pleased.
- Yes. What does it matter if Zoey is beautiful? Academic performance is my forte. I will make the Saldana Family realize how wrong they were to cast me out.
- ...
- By lunchtime, when Zoey arrived at the cafeteria, she was met with a barrage of mocking glances.
- She calmly walked to the counter, got a serving of meatballs, and had just sat down when trouble came her way.
- A pair of sneakers landed on the table in front of her. "Hey, ugly. Go get us some food!"
- She looked up and saw a group of boys in basketball jerseys, reeking of sweat, looking down at her with arrogant disdain.
- They were all on Zeke's basketball team. Back when she liked Zeke, she would cater to them, always getting their meals and treating them to feasts.
- Over time, they had grown haughty, treating Zoey like a servant.
- Zoey cast a frosty glance at the legs on the table. "Take your feet off the table."
- Dylan Jones sneered, showing utter disregard. "Zoey, you're getting bold now, huh? Don't think that just because you're prettier, Zeke will like you! Hurry up and get our food, or we'll make your life miserable—ouch!"
- A scream pierced the air like a pig being slaughtered.
- Zoey had kicked Dylan squarely in the stomach!
- Dylan crumpled to the ground, clutching his abdomen in agony.
- "If you don't know where to put your feet, I'll teach you." Zoey looked down at him, her foot pressing on his ankle, her dark pupils glinting with a menacing light.
- "You b*tch! I'll kill—"
- Before he could finish, Zoey's foot moved from his ankle to his face.
- She stomped hard on his mouth!
- "If you can't speak properly, then don't speak at all."
- The entire cafeteria was struck with astonishment.
- Everyone watched in utter disbelief.
- She's so fierce! Is this really the same timid, unattractive girl from before?
- Dylan's face turned a deep shade of purple as he tried to get up, but despite Zoey's slender frame, her strength was immense, and he couldn't move under her weight.
- Zoey's combat skills, taught by Jonathan, combined with her tomboyish nature since childhood, gave her more physical prowess than most men.
- Dylan's teammates were so shocked they forgot to help him.
- Seeing Dylan's face turning blue from the effort, he gritted his teeth and muttered, "Ugly freak!"
- Zoey's eyes flashed coldly, and she pressed harder on his mouth. "Feel free to try to say it again."
- Dylan let out a muffled groan of pain.
- Before the patrolling teacher arrived, Zoey pulled Dylan to his feet, casually draping an arm around his shoulders as if they were old pals.
- With a smile playing on her lips, she gazed at Dylan and remarked, "We're classmates. There's no need to make a fuss, right?"
- She emitted an aura of friendliness, contrasting sharply with the fierce demeanor she had displayed moments ago.
- Dylan's eyes widened in anger—how can someone be so shameless?
- "Zoey!" A voice filled with disbelief echoed through the room.
- Hearing it, Zoey felt a chill run down her spine.
- A boy in a red and white jersey dashed over.
- It was Zeke.
- Zeke hurried over, a hint of amazement in his eyes as he took in Zoey's striking appearance.
- However, upon seeing her proximity to Dylan, he shouted indignantly, "Get your hands off him! You're a girl; show some decency!"
- Suppressing the turmoil within her, Zoey glanced at him, her voice laced with defiance. "And who are you to dictate to me?"
- Everyone was stunned.
- No one had anticipated this side of Zoey.
- Isn't she the one who is infatuated with Zeke, always trailing after him?
- Zeke was taken aback, too, staring at Zoey with a mix of surprise and suspicion.
- He still recalled what she had said during their phone conversation; it felt as though Zoey had suddenly metamorphosed into someone entirely different.
- However, such a profound transformation could not occur overnight. Zeke suspected that Zoey was merely employing strategies to capture his attention.
- He bellowed, "Zoey, you're repulsive!"
- "Repulsive? Zeke, let's settle this and see who's truly repulsive."
- Zoey suddenly broke into a smile.
