• “Francis, stop pestering Bethany!” I pursed my lips. “Bethany tells me that she feels repulsed by you.”
• “Huh?” Francis flew into a rage. “What did you just say? Bethany would never say such a thing! Just wait. I'm going to call her right now! How dare you try to sow discord between us? We'll see how she decides to deal with you later on.”
• “Dr. Zabel, let me give you a word of advice. It's better if you don't call her. Bethany doesn't want to pick up your calls.”
