Chapter 3 Resurrect The Dead
- As I touched the scalpel set, a strange sense of familiarity washed over me, and a newfound confidence spread across my face.
- The young salesperson huffed, “Ha! You're wasting your time. I've never seen someone resurrect the dead!”
- “That's enough. You may leave now!” Calvin dismissed him with a wave.
- “I...” The young salesperson trailed off in surprise before leaving begrudgingly.
- “Do you need my assistance?” Calvin asked gently. Despite my erratic behavior and unreasonable actions, he remained composed and acted like a true gentleman.
- I glanced at him and responded, “Please help me wipe my sweat off later!”
- Calvin hesitated briefly. He then grabbed a towel and nodded, agreeing to my somewhat rude request.
- I grabbed a scalpel and took a deep breath before slowly cutting Sabine's chest open.
- Underneath the cut was a tumor as big as a fist.
- Beside me, Calvin exclaimed in astonishment, “How did you accurately locate the tumor without using any equipment?”
- I shot him a look and said nothing.
- Calvin belatedly realized that it was not the right time to disturb me. He immediately fell silent and observed my surgery attentively.
- Despite the lack of a surgery table, professional equipment, or surgical light, my divine knowledge and the slight shred of divine power guided me with precision.
- I wielded the scalpel with remarkable precision, performing the surgery with the accuracy and expertise of advanced medical equipment.
- Using only the scalpel, I meticulously and skillfully excised the tumor cells that were intricately connected to the organ until every last trace was removed.
- I then took the excised tumor and placed it in a nearby bowl.
- By that time, I was drenched in sweat and utterly exhausted. I turned to glance at Calvin, who seemed to have forgotten his task.
- He was watching me with wide eyes, clearly in awe of what I had accomplished.
- Instead of reprimanding him, I took the towel from him and wiped the sweat on my brow away.
- After that, I swiftly sewed up the wound on Sabine's chest.
- I then bent down and channeled all the divine power from the Ankh amulet into Sabine's body to ignite her vitality.
- Suddenly, Sabine, who was supposedly dead, let out a soft gasp as her fingers twitched.
- Calvin finally regained his senses. He stared at me in shock and spoke in a trembling voice. “Young man, w-what kind of power did you just use?”
- I shot him a surprised look. Clearly, Calvin wasn't an ordinary person who knew nothing.
- I replied calmly, “The power of the goddess of health.”
- “I can't believe it!” Calvin exclaimed with a gasp. “According to my ancestors, only the goddess of health and her envoy possess the ability to bring back the deceased. Yet, she has been absent for centuries. Witnessing the divine power in action today is truly a tremendous blessing!”
- He gave me a respectful bow. “Sir, I deeply apologize for not acknowledging you earlier. If I have unintentionally offended you in any manner, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness!”
- “It's fine,” I replied, pausing briefly before reiterating, “But you have to keep this a secret.”
- Given the circumstances, it would be prudent not to disclose that I was an envoy of the goddess, considering the tragic fate that befell my family due to the Ankh amulet.
- Despite his surprise, Calvin quickly understood the importance of keeping the matter secret. “You're absolutely right. The goddess' appearance on earth is a matter of great importance. If this information spreads, it could lead to serious consequences. Sir, rest assured, I will ensure that it remains a well-guarded secret!”
- Just then, a commotion erupted outside the door. “Mr. White, they've arrived. I can't believe someone actually convinced Professor Harrison to bring a deceased individual here. It's quite bothersome, isn't it?”
- The door swung open, revealing the young salesperson accompanied by the manager, Aaron White.
- As soon as Aaron spotted Calvin, he put on a flattering smile and politely proposed, “Professor Harrison, why don't you go and take a break? I'll handle this matter!”
- Calvin paid no attention to Aaron's suggestion and maintained his respectful demeanor toward me.
- Aaron wasn't bothered. After taking in the situation, he demanded icily, “Get rid of that body!”
- “How dare you!” Calvin chided angrily.
- With a look of astonishment on his face, Aaron quickly whispered, “Professor Harrison, that person is dead. Allowing her to stay would be—”
- “Who told you she's dead?” Calvin scolded. “Didn't you see that this en... This man has already...”
- Calvin intended to reveal that I saved Sabine but stopped short, remembering my earlier warning not to disclose my identity.
- “This little girl is seriously injured!” He then declared coldly, “Leave now. I need to continue my treatment!”
- “What?” Aaron could barely conceal his astonishment. “Professor Harrison, didn't you mention earlier that she's already dead?”
- “I admit I was mistaken, all right? Are you going to ridicule me for my age and poor vision?”
- Aaron's forehead broke into a cold sweat. It was evident that Calvin wielded considerable influence in the place, as even the manager didn't dare to risk offending him.
- “Get out!” Calvin roared.
- “R-Right away...” Aaron nodded vigorously as he hastily departed the scene with the salesperson.
- Outside the room, Aaron's furious voice echoed. “How dare you tell me there's a dead person inside? You fool. Do you want me to lose my job?”
