Chapter 2 Who Am I?
- She fluttered open her eyes and realized she was lying on the ground. Struggling in agony, she attempted to get up. "Where am I?" Trinia was bewildered as she surveyed her surroundings. "Am I in heaven?" She shook her head, realizing that heaven couldn't possibly be as grim as the room she found herself in. It was too small, with just a small bed and nothing else. "What on earth happened, and where am I?" Trinia questioned herself, raising her hand and noticing her bleeding wrist. "I would never cut myself!" she exclaimed, searching the room for a mirror and spotting a door on the left side. "Mom, Scott!" Trinia called out and walked towards the door, opening it to reveal a bathroom.
- Trinia entered the bathroom and sighed with relief upon seeing a mirror. However, when she looked into it, she screamed and covered her face.
- A stranger stared back at her. Trinia realized that she now had long, dark hair instead of her sickly bald head. "How is this possible?" She turned away from the mirror for a moment, then looked back, only to find that she hadn't transformed back into her previous bald self. "How am I still alive?" Trinia screamed, turning on the water and washing her face vigorously, hoping it was all just a dream. "I shouldn't be alive," she slapped herself across the face. "Isn't this supposed to be heaven?"
- "Where has she gone?" A deep, hoarse voice could be heard outside the bathroom. "Vanessa!" The voice called out.
- Trinia's attention turned to the door as she wondered who Vanessa was. She cautiously made her way toward the entrance of the bathroom, unsure of who was on the other side. However, before she could catch a glimpse, she lost her balance and stumbled out of the bathroom. "Ouch! This is even worse than my death!" she screamed in pain, lifting her head as she heard footsteps approaching her. The first thing she noticed was a man with golden eyes and long silver hair, dressed in a black cloak that revealed his bare chest and black trousers.
- "What are you doing lying on the floor?" Trinia blinked twice as she heard Ansel's deep voice. She kept staring at Ansel, wondering how such a strikingly handsome man could have such a bad attitude. But Trinia had more pressing thoughts on her mind.
- How in the world did she end up in someone else's body? She pondered as she gazed at him.
- "Get off the ground, you..." He began to curse at her, but the way she looked at him made him immediately stop, not expecting his despised mate to meet his gaze. "Are you looking me in the eyes now?" Ansel glared at her.
- Trinia was taken aback by the growling in his voice and quickly stood up from the ground. "May I ask who you are?"
- Ansel's eyes widened, thinking he had misheard. "Are you out of your mind?" He grabbed Trinia's hand and yelled at her. "I thought the whipping would have woken you up, but it seems like you've lost your senses!"
- "Lost my senses!" Trinia chuckled, perplexed as to why such a handsome man like Ansel would have such a terrible attitude. The way he talked down to her made her wonder if they knew each other from somewhere. She remembered that she had never been close to any man when she was still herself, not someone else. "Mr...?" Trinia paused, yanking her hand from Ansel's grasp. "I have no idea who you are, and I'm still trying to figure out how I ended up in this person's body. And you..." As Ansel raised his hand as if to slap Trinia, she interrupted. "I will press charges for attempted assault!" she yelled at him.
- Ansel never expected Vanessa to speak to him in such a manner since they had become mates years ago. He looked at her and touched her head, searching for any signs of injury, but instead, he noticed the slit on her wrist. "Did you try to kill yourself?" He took her hand in his and examined it carefully. "How dare the royal queen attempt suicide!"
- "I..." Trinia tried to explain herself to Ansel, most likely to tell him that the body didn't belong to her. However, she didn't know how to do so without sounding insane. How could she explain that she was supposed to die but miraculously survived, finding herself inside someone else's body?
- How is this even possible? She wondered.
- "Did you try to take your own life?" Ansel demanded, not out of concern but rather because Vanessa had attempted suicide without dying by his hand. His hatred towards her stemmed from her being the daughter of an evil witch.
- "I didn't attempt suicide because I died!" Trinia blurted out, not caring if she sounded insane. "I should be dead, but I'm here, alive, and my family is probably looking for me once they realize I'm gone."
- Ansel looked at her, then chuckled. He pulled her closer until their chests touched. "I don't know why you're behaving this way, but you need to compose yourself. We have a meeting with your clans."
- "What about my clans? What on earth are you talking about? And I must say, you're rude to someone I don't know well!"
- Ansel tightened his grip on her wrist and opened his mouth to speak, but two individuals entered the room. They were both men dressed in blue cloaks with masks covering their faces. Trinia's mind harkened back to her high school days when her friends talked about magicians that no one believed in. "All of you!" Trinia yelled and pushed Ansel in the chest. Although her push did not affect him, Trinia managed to free her hand from his grip and balled her fists, holding them up for all to see. "What have you done to my body to make me like this, huh? How am I still alive when I should be dead?" She screamed at Ansel.
- "Your Majesty!" One of the security guards yelled at her. "Remember, you're speaking to the Alpha King. Be cautious in your words."
- Trinia laughed. "The Alpha King? Is that the new trick the magicians have learned?" She laughed and threw a punch at Ansel, who deftly dodged it. "I'm good at fighting, and I don't think you're ready for my wrath just yet! Let me leave right now!"
- "Your Majesty!" The guards called out her name once again.
- "Don't yell at me!" Trinia screamed back. "You have no right to tell me what to do!"
- "What audacity!" Ansel's voice deepened as he stepped closer to Trinia. "How dare you open your mouth in front of me, huh?"
- "Stop acting like a king!"
- "I am the king!" Ansel declared.
- Trinia burst into laughter. "And I am the queen," she joked, unaware that she had unknowingly spoken the truth. Trinia pointed to herself and then to Ansel when no one said anything. "I'm the queen, right?" She questioned, receiving no response, which only made her laugh harder. "How did I go from dying to becoming a queen, huh?" Trinia shouted at Ansel, pointing at the two men in between them. "Did you kidnap me? I'll find you and have you arrested!" Trinia pointed her finger at them. "Don't bother following me!" With that, she turned and attempted to enter the bathroom, but her face collided with the door, causing her to collapse to the ground, groaning in pain. "Ouch! That hurt!"
- Ansel walked towards her and stood in front of her. "I don't know why you're acting this way, but remember, I am..." He crouched down to her level. "I am the king, and I won't tolerate disrespect. Once the meeting with the witches and werewolves is over, I will punish you!"
- "I'll be punished? Are you even a real king?" Trinia asked, but instead of responding, Ansel stood up and kicked her hand away.
- "For now, I'll spare your hands, but touch me again, and I'll sever them!" He threatened before turning to leave. "Bring the maidservant to help her prepare for the meeting!" He motioned for his guards to leave the room.
- Trinia stood up from the ground, pointing at the two guards who were watching her. "I'll just go to the bathroom then," she said, scratching the back of her head and entering. She hurriedly made her way to the sink and washed her face twice. "No!" she exclaimed. "This can't be real!" She slapped her face. "Who the hell am I?" She gasped and placed her hand on her reflection in the mirror. "How the hell did I survive?" she wondered.
- If someone had told Trinia that she would end up in someone else's body, she would have considered them crazy. She had no idea how to explain what had happened to her. "Who the hell are you?" she spoke to her reflection. "And who am I?"
