Chapter 1 A Chance To Be Reborn

  • The Human Realm
  • January 31st, 2022
  • "I'm sorry, but she may not make it tonight. It has spread throughout her brain," the doctor's announcement brought tears to Trinia's eyes as she watched her mother cry. "I sincerely apologize," the doctor said, bowing to Trinia's mother before leaving the ward.
  • "Oh, my poor baby," Trinia's mother exclaimed, rushing to her side and sitting beside her on the bed. "I'm so sorry it has to end this way. I apologize for not being able to see you become a doctor," Trinia's mother paused, wiping away her tears. "I'm sorry you didn't get to pursue your dream, and..."
  • "It's okay," Trinia said, taking her mother's hand and placing it on her stomach. Trinia had isolated herself from the outside world since being diagnosed with cancer three years ago. She used to be a vibrant young woman with dreams of becoming a doctor, but her diagnosis of glioblastoma shattered those plans. Trinia had fought with all her strength, undergoing chemotherapy and surgeries, but her fate was sealed, and she was slowly fading away. "All I want is to live like everyone else, and..."
  • "I'm so sorry, Trinia." Her mother stroked her bald head. "You used to have gorgeous red hair, and it breaks my heart to see you like this!" Her mother sobbed and kissed her on the cheek. "I love you and your brother Scott," Trinia's mother said, motioning for her son to come closer. "We love you, Scott," Trinia's mother said, as she joined her children's hands together. "Trinia, even in death, we will always be a family."
  • "Is Trinia finally coming home, Mum?" Scott, Trinia's five-year-old brother, asked.
  • Trinia nodded, blinking away the tears in her eyes.
  • "I love you, Scott," she opened her arms wide for him to embrace. "I love you," Trinia whispered, finding comfort in her brother's warm hug.
  • "Don't cry, Trinia," the little boy said. "Since you're coming home soon, I have a few of my toys I want to show you!" He announced happily.
  • Trinia fought back tears in front of him, forcing a smile. She sighed and turned to her mother. "I adore you, Mum," Trinia declared. "I need to be alone right now," Trinia coughed. "I want to spend my last moments alone," she said quietly.
  • Trinia's mother burst into tears, quickly wiping them away so as not to make her daughter feel bad. "Scott and I will be standing outside the door. Please call me if you need any assistance, Trinia." Trinia's mother walked towards the door, but Trinia called her back.
  • "Mum!" she said. "Do you happen to have a pen?"
  • When Trinia's mother realized what was about to happen, her green eyes widened. Her daughter was about to write her final letter, saying goodbye. "Oh, Trinia," she exclaimed, running to hug her daughter one last time. "I love you, my child," she kissed her forehead before rummaging through her bag to find the pen Trinia needed. When she found it, she handed her the black pen. "Trinia, I love you."
  • "I love you, Mum," she sniffled, taking the pen from her mother's hand. "Goodbye, Scott!"
  • "Bye, Trinia! I'll see you at home," Scott said, unaware that it would be the last time they saw each other. Trinia stretched her hand toward the left side of the room, where her book was, and opened it once her mother and brother had left.
  • "This may be my last chance, so I hope everyone remembers me," Trinia began to write.
  • To whoever finds this letter, I want to live my dream and see it come true. If there is anyone out there listening, please help me and give me a chance to live. I don't want to be forgotten!
  • Trinia scribbled a few more words, then attempted to place her book on the table stand beside her bed. However, her hands began to shake, and she screamed. "Mum!" Trinia struggled to breathe, coughing up blood.
  • Her mother rushed into the room, yelling and vigorously shaking her daughter. "Trinia!" she screamed, pressing the emergency button next to Trinia's bed, hoping the doctors would rush in and save her daughter's life. But when they arrived, they shook their heads sorrowfully at Trinia's mother.
  • "The time has come for her to go," one of the doctors said.
  • "No!" Trinia's mother yelled, embracing her daughter tightly. "Trinia!"
  • Trinia's heart stopped in a fraction of a second, and her soul left her body. She sobbed after her soul left her body and pointed at her lifeless body lying on the bed. "I am truly gone," she cried, staring at her mother, who tightly clutched her lifeless form. "I'm sorry, Mum."
  • Inside the room, a bright light appeared, visible only to Trinia's soul. She moved towards the light upon hearing a whisper. "A second chance!" the voice whispered. Trinia followed the voice and walked into the light before everything turned dark.

  • The Werewolf Realm
  • January 31st, 2022
  • Vanessa screamed in agony as the whip landed on her back, over and over again. Another lash, and another. Vanessa stifled her screams as the whip tore through her flesh, desperately looking up at her mate, the Alpha King, hoping he would listen to her and alleviate her pain. "I didn't do it!" Vanessa's voice trembled as another whip struck her back. "Ansel!" She called out her mate's name, but all she saw were his glaring golden eyes.
  • Charged with treason and plotting against the king, Vanessa found herself being punished in front of everyone in the Royal mansion. She was made a scapegoat for something she hadn't done. "I didn't do it," she repeated, blood running down her face as she struggled to keep her eyes open.
  • Everyone despised her, including her mate, the man she loved. Instead of listening to her, he believed the accusations and subjected her to public humiliation. Vanessa sobbed quietly, wondering what she had done to be hated by everyone, even her closest friend and her mate. "Ansel!" She cried out his name once more.
  • "Shut up!" one of the security guards yelled at her. "You have no right to call the king's name like that! You, evil witch, deserve to die!" The royal guard added, disdain evident in his eyes.
  • Vanessa had never been wanted since the day she was born. She was known as the daughter of Felicia, the evil witch who nearly destroyed the world with her obsession with the great pens bestowed upon her by the moon goddess and the witch's goddess. Vanessa became the laughingstock of her clan, despised for being the child of an evil witch. They only kept her alive because of her aunt Anora and her possession of the two pens.
  • She was always punished, whether she was right or wrong. Since her powers as a pen holder didn't manifest, she was cast out of the clan to live alone in the woods. The only person who visited her was her aunt Nora, until she passed away, leaving Vanessa with no one. Vanessa had once attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff but was saved by a mysterious man who happened to wander into the forest.
  • "Why do you want to end your life?" the man who saved her asked, and she simply replied, "It hurts!"
  • "Ending your life will only cause more pain," the man said. "Don't give up. Keep living because there might be someone out there who cares for you." Those words changed Vanessa's perspective on death. "I'll leave now."
  • "Can you at least tell me your name?" she asked the man who had saved her life, but he didn't respond, and she hadn't seen him since. Until the day the witches' elders visited her and informed her of her arranged marriage to the Alpha King.
  • "The werewolf clans have proposed a marriage to their Alpha king for the pen holders, even if their powers haven't manifested yet."
  • "What?" Vanessa couldn't believe the witches could be so heartless as to accept the proposal from the heartless king, a ruthless murderer. "Why do you all despise me so much?"
  • "You should be grateful that I saved your life instead of letting you die. And remember, once your powers are taken away, I will personally kill you," the witch leaders had threatened her.
  • Before she knew it, Vanessa was taken to the werewolf realm as the Luna Queen. But upon her arrival, she realized that the man who had saved her life in the woods was none other than the Alpha King himself. Vanessa had hoped he would be kind like the man she had met, but he turned out to be just like everyone else.
  • He despised her from the moment he discovered her mother's identity. He made her life unbearable. To make matters worse, he refused to acknowledge her as his Luna Queen and kept her as a mere maid in the Royal mansion. The Alpha King refused to accept her until she manifested her powers. Vanessa became Ansel's maidservant because she had no choice but to wait and try to earn the king's favor. Her aunt Anora had always told her that she was a powerful woman, but Vanessa believed she should have never been born.
  • After enduring more lashes, the punishment finally ended. Ansel stood up and walked away, leaving Vanessa released and dragged back to her room. She found herself on the ground, bleeding and in pain. "Why me?" Tears streamed down her face as she recalled the torment she had experienced since arriving at the Royal mansion. "I need to put an end to this!" Vanessa crawled over to her desk and grabbed her diary, where she documented her emotions. She took out one of her many pens and began to write down her feelings at that moment.
  • I want to die and never be reborn. Life is filled with endless misfortunes, and mine never ceases. If I were given a chance to be reborn, I would refuse, for living is hell for me.
  • Vanessa finished writing and scanned her table for any sharp objects. She eventually found a pair of scissors. "If I had the powers, maybe they would respect me. But no one wants me, so goodbye," she slit her right wrist and groaned in pain as blood spilled out. Vanessa screamed in agony, collapsing to the ground as the blood continued to flow. She coughed up blood and exclaimed, "Never to be reborn again," as she took her final breath and everything faded to black.
  • Her soul, like Trinia's, departed from her body and stood beside it. "Never again!" she cried, gazing at her lifeless form. Then, a bright light appeared, accompanied by a soft voice whispering through the light. "A chance to start anew!" the voice murmured.
  • Vanessa shifted her gaze to the light and approached it. "A chance to start anew!" She walked into the light, and everything turned dark.
