• Maya let out a heavy sigh, her eyes reflecting a mixture of boldness and fear. Despite her apparent firmness, she knew she was in a delicate situation. She feared that Sander's arrival could provoke a massacre in the herd. She was not prepared to allow the women to be taken away. With her heart pounding in her chest, she watched Sander walk away. Then she spoke aloud.
