Chapter 5 You Are No Different

• It’s been six weeks since Claire find out she is pregnant and she has yet decide if she want Prince Michael to know about it or not.
• If she announce the news now, she will probably be honour and have her baby throw a party, to top it all, it would patch things up between her and Prince Michael
• But then she would be force to leave Aither and someone else would be made Regent, she cannot leave Aither yet when things are still unstable.
• Perhaps when she success at regaining back Aither’s lost glory she could finally tell the news to him and make him null his words to divorce her.
• “Your Highness, Prince Michael is here to see you” Boston came in and Claire turn around to take a seat at the special seat that has been made foots away from the king’s throne.
• She place her hand on her stomach subconsciously as she wait for him to come in. Albeit, he is not alone but with few councils of the court and Claire become alert.
• “What is the meaning of this” she question as they come in front of her.
• “The council has decided to make me the Regent” Prince Michael say with unbothered facial and Claire get up with a big frown.
• “Prince Michael is your husband Your Highness, since the crown Prince is not ready to become King now, it is only right that your husband should be the next ruler”
• “Until Prince Caleb is ready to ascend the throne”
• Claire listen to them getting infuriate by the click of second, she can not believe the nonsense they are sprouting out.
• Even if Prince Michael is her husband, he is no Aither and has no right to get on the throne as a ruler.
• She turn to Prince Michael who is standing in their midst and give a loud chuckle that cause them to stop talking and focus on her.
• “Is this your idea? To mess with me?” she question
• “It is only right that a man rule and you are but a woman” Michael respond dumbstruck her for a moment.
• She is not sure why he is playing such a risky and stupid game right now but she could not be more offended by his rudeness and obnoxious words.
• “I can not agree with you on this” she let out facing the councils.
• “Prince Michael is not from Aither and cannot become the next ruler after my father”
• “Your marriage to him has made him a part of the kingdom” one of the council affirm and Claire glare at him but he did not back out.
• She take one look at all the men’s eyes and realize that they have already decide on this, there is no way she can prevent this unless she divorce him now or bring back her brother.
• Neither of the two options is a good plan for now and she cannot let this setback hinder her plan for the future.
• She grab her dress and storm off the courtroom in anger, she cal Boston to come with her and head for her mother’s quarters.
• “How is the crown Prince fairing?” she ask in a hurry
• “he is still not well enough, Princess Mitchell said he is still hallucinating and refuse to come out of his room”
• “ugrh” Claire let out in frustration and pace around thinking hard.
• She think to divorce but the baby in her womb have properly grow into babies and she might end her own life if she dare to terminate it.
• It would be a big shame if she is to give birth out of marriage either, she would lose her position as a princess in both kingdoms.
• And worst to come is that her child get taken away from her and she is sent to some remote place to live a miserable life.
• “This might be a good idea Claire” Queen Madison say to her and she halt from her paces
• “Not now Mama”
• “He’s a good man, isn’t he? If he can help hold the position until your brother become well, it would be great wouldn’t it?” she add not backing down.
• “we could use Silverbell to help Aither heal from it internal damage” Boston chip in and Claire throw him a look.
• She heave out and try to think of the fact that Silverbell would be in charge of the Kingdom a good thing.
• A knock come on the door distracting them and Prince Michael’s voice ring out asking to come in.
• The anger rush to Claire again and she go forward to meet him outside closing the doors behind her.
• “What do you want?”
• “To talk to you” he reply.
• “You did not think to talk to me before going to the councils and conspiring behind my back”
• “I want to help relief your burden” he say and Claire chuckle at his ridiculous excuse
• “You are not helping me Your Highness, you are doing exactly as your father want you to”
• “I thought you hated the royals but here you are being greedy about power”
• “I do not think you have any right to diss me when you did worst to my own family” Michael snap.
• He think he could talk to her and make her understand but screw that.
• “You are no different from me so drop the righteous act and at least do not be a coward who hides under unreasonable excuses” Claire fire up and walk pass him.
• After considering without a better choice, Claire step down from being the regent the next day and Prince Michael is to be crown as the next King of Aither.
• Princess Claire try not to get upset by it but the more she think about it, she get infuriate and this make things worst between her and Prince Michael.
• The Kingdom is healing from the war and lost of their great King while the royal family get to adjust to the new change of power.
• It is getting hard for Claire to hid her stomach which is protruding by the count of days and she try to lock herself in her quarters to avoid eating with others because of her newly develop cravings.
• She could not have any of the maids that has just being brought in attend to her and Boston who also know about it can not help her either.
• In two days, Prince Michael would be crown and she will also be crown as his Queen but she could not feel the excitement.
• After refusing to see him for four days, Princess Claire decide to go see him and have a good talk with him before he become the King.
• She make sure to hide her bump and make her way to the court where she know he would be with the councils learning things.
• As she near the building, she run into Princess Emma who is carrying a tray of refreshment and drinks.
• “Sister Claire” she call cheerfully.
• “Who is this for?” Claire ask
• “You don’t know this because you haven’t been eating with the family for quite sometime now” Claire arch her brow at her.
• “Prince Michael request me to stay close by his side and serve him” she inform calling his name with tenderness of familiarity.
• “He’s still pretty upset with you for daring to disregard him by refusing to show up at the dinning table”
• Princess Emma adds and smile lightly before giving her a little bow and continue her walk towards the courtroom.
• Claire chuckle in disbelief as she watch Emma twirl happily, she cannot believe Prince Michael will turn out to be no different from every other men.
