Chapter 1 Nightmare

• Claire let her feet move slowly away from the man holding her at a dagger point, she tried to grip onto something but nothing seem to be around her for some support. It feels like she has been thrown into some space alone with the one who wants her life.
• “You killed my brothers!” Prince Michael yelled to her face and her whole body trembled as the dagger points harshly at her.
• “You do not deserve my blood growing in you, An evil like you doesn’t deserve to have my child” he screamed furiously and charged at Claire.
• The dagger pierced her flesh and thrust into her stomach killing the foetus inside her womb, Claire look down and watch blood drench her dress, she grabbed tight on to Prince Michael’s hand holding the dagger and scream out loud in horror.
• She openef her eyes to see that her sweat was what has soaked her bed and not her blood like she presumed. This was the fifth time she would be having such awful dream ever since she found out about her pregnancy.
• She stood up unable to fall back asleep and glanced outside the window to see if it was daybreak already but it was still very dark. She thought she has been sleeping for hours but looks like she hadn’t.
• A knock came on her door and she turned to it before asking the fellow to come in, she walked to take a seat at the comfy chair near the window and await Boston to walk up to her.
• “Your highness, I’m sorry to disturb you but…” he paused hesitantly.
• “What is it Boston?’ Claire asked feeling irritated. It was quite early and she was cold.
• “Soldiers are approaching the walls” he let out and Claire sprang off her seat.
• “I already ordered the soldiers to guard the walls but we might not last longer than two days, we need reinforcement from Silverbell”
• Claire tried not to get nervous and quickly began to think of a quick solution, even if she managed to convinced King Edward to help fight against Mana soldiers, they would still suffer a big loss before they make it to Aither.
• “Do you have a number on the soldiers?” she asked
• “About four hundred men” Boston answered.
• “Summon up all the guards in the palace and have them rush to the front to safeguard the walls, this way we would be able to save more soldiers before help arrive”
• “Immediately Your Highness” Boston said and turned around to leave but halt making an observation.
• “What about the royal families Your highness? There would be no one to protect the palace”
• “they won’t be able to get through the walls but if that happens…then the royal family would need to protect themselves” she said and Boston bow as he take his leave to carry out her order.
• Claire picked up her cloak as soon as Boston left and go to her Mother’s quarters at once, she was sleeping soundly and took a while to get her to wake up.
• “I need you to go hide at Father’s secret chambers Mama” she told her helping her to get up and pick her slippers.
• Queen Madison who was still feeling drowsy looked confused at her daughter’s request. She want o ask her many questions at to what was going on but she pushed her out of the room and they make their way silently to the court not wanting to attract others.
• The guards that are being dispatched to guard the wall was a good distraction for them and they made it safely to the King’s court.
• Claire went to the royal throne and push what seem like a decor on it. The floor beside the throne room came open and steps were revealed.
• She led her mother carefully who was now fully awaken and help her sit on a wooden chair in the room. The room was built by the past monarchs and it was a secret safe for kings.
• “You will be safe here Mama and no matter what you hear, do not come out or make a sound” she warned.
• Queen Madison grab her hand as she attempt to leave and shook her head not wanting her to, she was not sure what could be going on but it wasn’t something good.
• The kingdom is in trouble and she fear that she would want to be the heroine who would save it.
• “Just stay here Mama” Claire urged and push her grip off while she hurry out to manage the affairs.
• She lock the secret room and proceed to grab her father’s sword which was sitting behind the throne with his shield, she isn’t much of a fighter but she is determined to protect Aither until she could no longer do so.
• Princess Roseline in the midst of the little chaos also managed to escape out of her quarters and go to the secluded building where she had the enemies awaiting her to let them in to the palace.
• She pulled the lock struggling and succeed after a while all sweaty, the soldiers rush in as soon as the walls move up from the ground and Roseline waited for their leader.
• Prince Eli step forward in his armor and nod at Princess Roseline who nod back, she lead them carefully into the palace and they hide in a closed corner as they watch the guards moving out in a hurry out of the palace.
• Once they are sure that all has left, the soldiers proceed further on Prince Eli’s command now while Roseline quickly escape back to her quarters to await the result.
• Soon the horrifying screams of the maid awaken everyone else in the royal family and they panicked at first troubled by the horrified screams.
• Blood start to flow and people run helter-skelter trying to save their lives as the soldiers were cutting heads down and slashing bodies.
• Claire hear the scream from the throne room and know that what she had feared has finally come to meet her, she try not to feel suffocated inside the king’s armor and walk out carefully with the sword determined to slay anyone in her way.
• Someone bump into her and she raised her sword to slaughter the person but freeze it in the air when she saw that it was Jain who was looking petrified.
• She has forgotten about her being here, she look around not sure if it was safe to bring her to the safe room now but Jain grab her arm anxiously.
• “We need to escape out of here My Princess” she cried.
• She must have woken up frightened and rush to find her instead of saving her own head.
• Claire thought and hold the sword carefully and look around as she turn to bring her to the safe room so she would not be killed either.
• Just as she want to push the door open, a soldier rush at them and Claire defend with the shield in her hand. The sword fell off her hand as she make use of her two hands to pull the shield up and struggle not to get killed.
• Watching her mistress struggle, Jain rush at the soldier in a bid to help her mistress, however when Claire managed to push the soldier off and try to pick up her sword, the soldier rushed at her to stab her and Jain push her chest in front instead to save her life.
• Claire was shocked for a second but recover and wedge her sword at the soldier, stabbing through his neck and pushing him off with her feet.
• She grab Jain who spurt out so much blood as the blade was forced out of her chest when the soldier fell and call out her name, but she did not last a second before closing her eyes and giving up the ghost.
