Chapter 5 Who Is The Culprit

  • Even though Seraphina was only a teenager, she had to bear such a burden.
  • Despite Seraphina's considerable talents, she was still far from achieving revenge.
  • Only when she obtained the Red Lotus Sword, one of the Seven Divine Swords, could she hope to accomplish her goal.
  • Otherwise, all discussions are off the table.
  • “I understand, Asher. Thank you! I'll head back to cultivation now,” said Seraphina.
  • “Go on!” Asher nodded.
  • Seraphina left with the Flying Sword Technique.
  • With a single thought, Asher's longsword emerged from its sheath behind him. It swiftly enlarged in front of him, and he hopped onto it, commanding the sword to fly ahead.
  • Next, he planned to return to Solitude Peak to peruse the ancient texts in search of information about the Red Spider Lily.
  • Although Timothy had mentioned that the matter should be left to the sect, Asher didn't like to pin his hopes on others.
  • Besides, there was something else waiting for Asher to do.
  • His master was gravely injured and on the brink of death. It was only right that he, as the disciple, should avenge his master.
  • Inside the side hall of Divine Sword Sect, after Asher and Seraphina left, Timothy finally spoke up/ “Let's proceed according to the plan!”
  • “Yes, Timothy!” the other five replied in unison.
  • “Nieva, I suggest you sit this operation against Hades Sect out. Instead, head back and thoroughly study the information about Spectral Abyss Secret Realm. Your age fits perfectly within the rules. When the secret realm opens in a month, go in alone, under disguise, and find the Red Spider Lily! I'll have others draw the outside world's attention. No matter what, we must obtain the Red Spider Lily to save Maverick. He's given so much to our Divine Sword Sect. We can't let such a meritorious individual down.” Timothy instructed, looking at Nieva.
  • “Rest assured! I will definitely accomplish the mission,” Nieva responded.
  • “All right! Everyone can disperse now!” Timothy nodded.
  • Once everyone else had left, Timothy remained standing in his original spot, unmoving.
  • He still harbored a hint of doubt in his heart.
  • Logically speaking, Hades Sect wouldn't dare to provoke Divine Sword Sect.
  • However, not only did Hades Sect severely injure Maverick, but they also stole the Honor Sword.
  • By all accounts, Hades Sect couldn't have endured the wrath of Divine Sword Sect, so Timothy suspected someone was pulling the strings behind the scenes. Is it Supreme Demon Sect or Seven Slaughter Sect? Furthermore, it's peculiar that Maverick was poisoned by the Soul Devouring Powder when the opening of Spectral Abyss Secret Realm was imminent, where the only antidote, the Red Spider Lily, could be found. Is someone attempting to lure Divine Sword Sect into deploying more forces into Spectral Abyss Secret Realm? Why? It seems I need to spend time investigating this matter. Regardless, we must avenge Maverick and recover the Honor Sword. It doesn't matter what the enemy's intentions are. Those who dare to provoke Divine Sword Sect must face its wrath!
  • Asher began to peruse the ancient texts after returning to Solitude Peak.
  • The library there was vast, filled to the brim with mountains of books.
  • Solitude Peak was once glorious, but sadly, it had fallen into decline.
  • After Asher's relentless efforts, his hard work finally paid off. Three days later, he found the elusive Red Spider Lily mentioned in an ancient book detailing various rare spiritual herbs found across the Nouvo Continent.
  • “The Red Spider Lily, naturally fond of the cold, primarily thrives in extremely chilly regions. It looks like a dragon's claw, and the flower is a vibrant red featuring scaled roots. Its leaves grow in clusters, elongated with pointed ends, and the flower itself sprouts singularly, with an umbrella-shaped cluster blooming at the top. It's said that the Red Spider Lily is a flower from the underworld...” After reading about the Red Spider Lily, Asher discovered that it had once appeared in a place known as Spectral Abyss Secret Realm.
  • Subsequently, Asher began his search for information about Spectral Abyss Secret Realm and succeeded swiftly.
  • “Spectral Abyss Secret Realm is rumored to be a portal to the underworld. The atmosphere within is thick with cold energy, void of sunlight. Due to their constant exposure to this cold energy, the flora and fauna residing there underwent mutations. As such, many mutant beasts and spiritual herbs appeared there. Those who dare to venture in have to tread carefully, for a single misstep can cost them their lives. Spectral Abyss Secret Realm only opens once every hundred years...” After calculating the next opening time of Spectral Abyss Secret Realm, Asher was delighted.
  • Spectral Abyss Secret Realm was set to open in just over a month. The duration of its opening was three months. Since Maverick would live for half a year more, there was plenty of time for Asher to complete his mission.
  • All he needed was to locate the Red Spider Lily within the hidden depths of Spectral Abyss Secret Realm. Combining it with the other medicinal herbs from Divine Sword Sect would create a spiritual pill capable of detoxifying Maverick.
  • However, Asher was suddenly taken aback.
  • The entrance to Spectral Abyss Secret Realm only opened once every hundred years, and Maverick just so happened to be poisoned by the Soul Devouring Powder, which could only be treated by a pill made from the Red Spider Lily, before the opening.
  • Asher suspected it wasn't a coincidence and that someone was targeting Divine Sword Sect. It seems I can't rely on the sect. I must locate the Red Spider Lily myself. Though now that I know how to save Master, I can't help but wonder who hurt him. As his disciple, it's only natural I avenge him, but I doubt it'll be easy to figure out the identity of the culprit since Mr. Rangel said it's confidential. I bet only the executives of the sect know the answer. What do I do, then?
