Chapter 6 Visit To Maiden Peak

  • Though Asher was the senior disciple of his generation in Divine Sword Sect and had been a member for two decades, his limited ventures from Solitude Peak limited his acquaintance with the sect executives.
  • He was only familiar with the other six owners of Seven Divine Swords and hardly knew anyone else.
  • Therefore, in order to discover who harmed Maverick, his only course of action was to start by asking Maverick's peers questions.
  • The issue then became who he should speak with.
  • He immediately ruled Timothy out because the latter was the leader of Divine Sword Sect. If the latter wished to reveal the details, he would've done so.
  • After much consideration, among the remaining five people, Asher eventually set his sights on Nieva.
  • He knew Nieva was actually a person with a warm heart beneath her cold exterior.
  • When Asher was very young, due to Maverick's frequent absences from the sect, the latter would often entrust Asher to Nieva.
  • Of course, all of that happened over two decades ago. Once Asher became self-sufficient, he lived on Solitude Peak with Seraphina. They stayed there together until she became a disciple of Scarlett.
  • With the decision settled, Asher headed to Maiden Peak, Nieva's territory.
  • As soon as he arrived, he was stopped by two female disciples.
  • Maiden Peak only accepted female disciples. Male disciples from other peaks of Divine Sword Sect had to report in advance if they wished to enter.
  • “Excuse me!” The two female disciples halted Asher. “May we ask where you're from and what brings you to Maiden Peak?”
  • They could tell that Asher was a direct disciple, but they didn't recognize him.
  • “My name is Asher, and I'm from Solitude Peak. I wish to meet with Ms. Frost. Would you two be so kind as to pass on the message? Thank you!” Asher replied politely.
  • Asher? Solitude Peak? The two female disciples pondered momentarily, then simultaneously exclaimed in shock, “You're Asher Lockwood, the senior disciple?”
  • Asher didn't expect them to know him like that.
  • Ever since he joined Divine Sword Sect, he rarely left Solitude Peak. His aim, of course, was to keep a low profile and merely survive.
  • In his previous life on Earth, his youthful recklessness led to his downfall, leaving him with absolutely nothing.
  • Since he had been given a second chance at life, he obviously couldn't afford to make the same mistakes again.
  • Though those powerful empires on Earth possessed nuclear weapons, a formidable trump card of immense power, the major forces in Lushtopia were not to be underestimated.
  • What truly baffled Asher was how the two female disciples recognized him despite keeping such a low profile.
  • He was unaware that the title of Divine Sword Sect's senior disciple wasn't something he could keep a low profile of, even if he wanted to.
  • If Asher was ranked beyond the top ten in that generation of Divine Sword Sect, it was likely that the disciples of the sect wouldn't even know of his existence.
  • While Asher did indeed have a reputation, it wasn't exactly a good one.
  • The executives of Divine Sword Sect could only use one word to describe their impression of Asher, which was that he was useless.
  • However, the disciples had an extra word to describe him, which was “Mysterious.”
  • The terms “Useless” and “Good-for-nothing” were what everyone seemed to be talking about.
  • Meanwhile, they call him mysterious because they simply never met him before.
  • As such, it was little wonder the two female disciples were shocked to meet the legendary senior disciple.
  • “My name is Asher! Could you two please inform Ms. Frost of my visit?” Asher spoke up again.
  • “O-Okay! Please wait a moment! I'm going to report this right away!” replied one of the disciples before she went into Maiden Peak.
  • The other remained in place, closely examining Asher.
  • In Lushtopia, it was generally understood that the senior disciple of any sect was a formidable figure.
  • After all, they were the face of the sect.
  • The senior disciple of Divine Sword Sect was the only one who was completely useless.
  • That was also a topic frequently discussed among the disciples within the sect.
  • The sight of the mysterious and useless senior disciple would pique anyone's curiosity.
  • As the female disciple stared at Asher, she felt a sense of pity. He's so handsome. It's a shame he's just not strong enough. Otherwise, he would've captivated so many female disciples.
  • Asher wasn't bothered by what others thought of him.
  • The female disciple who went to report Asher's visit returned promptly. “Asher, please follow me!”
  • “Thank you, you two!” replied Asher.
  • “There's no need for formalities!”
  • Asher followed the female disciple leading the way into Maiden Peak, marking his first visit to that place.
  • There were two places within Divine Sword Sect that the male disciples found particularly enticing.
  • The first was Maiden Peak, where each and every female disciple was refreshingly beautiful.
  • The second was Twilight Peak, presided over by Scarlett.
  • However, there was still a difference between those two peaks.
  • Maiden Peak, under Nieva's control, only admitted female disciples, whereas Twilight Peak, managed by Scarlett, accepted both male and female disciples.
  • Compared to Twilight Peak, the allure of Maiden Peak was even more captivating to male disciples.
  • Numerous female disciples gazed at Asher with curiosity as he made his way to meet Nieva.
  • When Asher arrived before Nieva, he respectfully said, “Greetings, Ms. Frost!”
  • “Asher, no need for formalities,” Nieva replied without any expression. “Just tell me what brings you here!”
  • Just like her surname suggested, Nieva always exuded an icy demeanor, treating everyone with the same cold indifference.
  • On Earth, she would be known as a cold beauty.
  • “Ms. Frost! I hope you'll forgive my audacity for coming here today, but I need to ask you, who is responsible for my master's injuries? Please, grant me an answer!” Asher bowed respectfully, revealing the purpose of his visit.
