Chapter 2 The Background Of Asher

• A sense of foreboding filled Asher's heart when he saw it.
• The woman crying was his junior, Seraphina Stone, who also happened to be Maverick's only daughter.
• Maverick's wife had been gone for many years, so there was only one possibility Seraphina was weeping.
• Is the person inside the coffin... Is Master dead? Asher was instantly frozen on the spot, and his mind went blank. He even forgot to breathe.
• It wasn't until he could no longer bear it that he finally exhaled slowly, his thoughts abruptly reverting back to over two decades ago.
• Back then, he was just an infant, swaddled in cloth, abandoned in the middle of nowhere.
• Asher had memories from his infancy because he was not originally from that world. His adult soul resided within an infant's body.

• Consequently, several powerful nations had set their sights on him, offering extremely generous terms in the hope that Asher would sell his technology to them.
• As a patriotic and ambitious young man, Asher naturally wouldn't hand over the fruits of his laborious research to another country. It was something he intended to dedicate to his own homeland.
• The outcome was predictable.
• As Asher was about to set foot on his homeland, the enemy nation resorted to the drastic measure of deploying a nuclear bomb. That turned Asher and the surrounding area of several kilometers into ashes.
• Asher was unaware of what transpired afterward. By the time he opened his eyes, he had found himself in the vast Nouvo Continent.
• Fortunately, the fruits of his scientific research had already been delivered back to his motherland via a different route. With the aid of those achievements, Corvaina was bound to rise rapidly, surpassing rival nations. Asher's life wasn't wasted.

• Direct disciples were extremely rare, inner sect disciples were slightly more common, and outer sect disciples were the most prevalent.
• Regardless of when they joined or their age, the disciples from the outer sect had to address those from the inner sect and the direct disciples as seniors.
• When the inner sect disciples encountered the direct disciples, it was the same.
• When Asher was five years old, Maverick came home covered in blood, cradling a little girl in his arms. That girl was Seraphina.
• As for Seraphina's mother, Asher had never met her.
