Chapter 1 Senior Disciple Of Senior Sword Sect

  • At Lushtopia, Nouvo Continent lay Divine Sword Sect on Solitude Peak.
  • Beneath a thousand-year-old tree atop the peak, a young man in his twenties was partially reclined on the ground. His hands were placed behind his head as a makeshift pillow, his legs were casually crossed, and a blade of straw was nestled in his mouth. With his eyes closed, he was in a state of peaceful repose.
  • The extinguished fire pit nearby, along with the scattered bones across the ground, bore witness to a life-and-death battle that had taken place there.
  • The young man was Asher Lockwood, the senior disciple of his generation in Divine Sword Sect. He was the direct and sole disciple of Maverick Stone, the master of the Honor Sword, one of the Seven Divine Swords.
  • Maverick was no ordinary individual.
  • His natural talent was so remarkable that he ranked among the highest in the entire history of Divine Sword Sect. He was even hailed as a once-in-a-century prodigy of the sect. Had it not been for an unfortunate accident years ago that damaged his foundation, causing his strength to stagnate, he would likely be the leader of Divine Sword Sect.
  • Unfortunately, there were no what-ifs!
  • Even a genius, once disabled, was no longer considered a genius.
  • The Seven Divine Swords were not only the seven named swords of Divine Sword Sect but also referred to seven individuals. Their fame was spread far and wide throughout Lushtopia.
  • These were the Honor Sword, the Origin Sword, the Thunderstorm Sword, the Abyss Sword, the Flame Dragon Sword, the Red Lotus Sword, and the Ice Soul Sword.
  • The corresponding generation of those swords' wielders were Maverick, Timothy Rangel, Jayden Zimmerman, Zayn Jones, Harvey Lambert, Scarlett Larson, and Nieva Frost.
  • Among them, Nieva was the youngest, not even a hundred years old, while the next youngest person was already nearing three hundred years old.
  • The significant age gap existed because earning the recognition of the Seven Divine Swords was an incredibly challenging feat.
  • There was a time when every sword bearer experienced numerous prolonged periods of difficulty.
  • Without the recognition of Seven Divine Swords, its true power could not be unleashed.
  • Seven Divine Swords could fight independently, each possessing its own unique properties. They could also assemble into the formidable Big Dipper Sword Formation. Even more impressive, they could unite into a single entity. Their combined might was overwhelming and far surpassing the simple sum of their individual strengths.
  • It was unfortunate that Maverick had lagged behind. Otherwise, the strength of Divine Sword Sect would have undoubtedly ascended to another level.
  • The Seven Divine Swords of that generation had finally found their rightful owners, a feat not easily achieved. However, it was a pity that one person had lagged behind.
  • “Where are you, Asher?” Suddenly, a voice echoed from the sky.
  • Asher opened his eyes and rose, casually gesturing with his hand.
  • Woosh!
  • The meter-long blue sword hanging from the large tree suddenly flew off in an instant, rapidly increasing in size.
  • He stepped onto it, transforming it into a streak of rainbow as he soared into the sky.
  • Flying Sword Technique was the most fundamental skill for a sword cultivator. One only needed to reach the Condensation Stage to start learning it.
  • Atop Solitude Peak stood a woman of unparalleled beauty.
  • She was none other than Nieva, the master of the Ice Soul Sword, one of the Seven Divine Swords. In other words, she was Maverick's junior and Asher's senior.
  • Asher approached Nieva, stopping a short distance away. He bowed and said, “Greetings, Ms. Frost!”
  • “Follow me!” said Nieva after glancing at Asher before leaving.
  • “Understood!” After replying, Asher followed along.
  • Nieva strode ahead in the air while Asher followed with his Flying Sword Technique.
  • There was a fundamental difference between the Air Walking Technique and the Flying Sword Technique.
  • To master the Flying Sword Technique, one only needed to reach the second stage, the Condensation Stage. However, to perform the Air Walking Technique, one had to advance to the fifth stage, the Sky Stage.
  • The disparity in strength between the two was significant.
  • At that point, Asher was somewhat bewildered. It was rare Nieva visited Solitude Peak. In fact, the same could be said for his other seniors and members of Divine Sword Sect.
  • After all, Asher was the only one left on Solitude Peak then.
  • Maverick had been away from the mountain for a long time and had yet to return. His only junior had become a disciple of Scarlett. As such, his title as the senior disciple of Divine Sword Sect was in name only.
  • Essentially, no one would venture to Solitary Peak unless circumstances were such that they had no choice but to come.
  • The once-renowned Solitary Peak had long since lost its prestige. If it weren't for Maverick still being alive, it would have already been taken over by the others from Divine Sword Sect.
  • Either way, Maverick was still one of the masters of Seven Divine Swords, specifically the master of the Honor Sword. He was also the senior to the current sect leader, Timothy. While Maverick wasn't particularly powerful, his position was not insignificant. Moreover, he had been injured while carrying out a mission, which had halted his progress in strength. As such, everyone in Divine Sword Sect had to show him some respect.
  • Should anything unexpected happen to Maverick, the Honor Sword and Solitude Peak would undoubtedly become the objects of intense competition among many.
  • Even if they were unable to gain the approval of the Honor Sword and unleash its true power, possessing that sword was still a dream of countless members of Divine Sword Sect.
  • Logically speaking, as Asher was the only disciple of Maverick, he should have been the one to inherit the sword.
  • Unfortunately, despite being the senior disciple of Divine Sword Sect in his generation, Asher's abilities were simply not up to par.
  • The Honor Sword, one of the Seven Divine Swords, was the symbol of Divine Sword Sect. There was no way they would let someone of his mediocre talent inherit it.
  • The two quickly arrived at a secluded hall within Principal Peak of Divine Sword Sect, where the rest of the Seven Divine Swords wielders had been waiting for some time.
  • In the middle of the side hall, there was an ice coffin. A young and beautiful woman was kneeling in front of it, quietly shedding tears.
