• After assigning the night duties to every group for the fourth time this week, I retreated to my chambers. Beta Jaime was commanding them to be more diligent and careful of their surroundings, while I could only imagine Yvette sitting at the window, looking at the moon like always.
• She noticed me passing by when the door was open and again gave me a small smile, even though I could see her eyes filled with tears. She was in her most vulnerable state of mind at this moment, and the lack of attention from her husband only added to her concern and misery.
